You sometimes forget the pressure on these guys from friends, family, coaches whatever at such a young age
Was there a Rouse Hill Rhino playing in his position?
Every club loses top talent. Look at the Tigers with Addo-Carr and Papenhausen. We just need to be better at locking in and identifying talent earlier. Under Ryles its happening. BA was more concerned about the now because for him worrying about the development of younger players - BA Bushie didn't want to risk his career on development thats why our reserve grade was full of other clubs rejected players.
Our 2022 squad had a bunch of pathways players:
Arthur
Brown
Kaufusi
Mahoney
Penisini
Russell
Stone
These guys came through before Covid, when the club was investing in pathways recruitment. The players were ready, so they were brought into the squad. But during Covid the club lost a huge amount of revenue so we reduced pathways spending and the result was the players weren't coming through by the time the salary cap dismantled the squad. By the time the club had recovered financially from Covid, there was a gap in the age group needed to feed the NRL squad. That's why no youngsters were brought into the team until recently.
If you're trying to blame the former coach, you're forgetting that he brought through plenty of youngsters from that quality pathways crop of 2017.
Yea and how many did we keep. Khafusi should never have been let go as Utokimanu was.
Arthur- you're kidding me. The only reason he got through because of yours truly.
Moneyball aka bushieball but with the expertise and insight...MON was the one generating the stats
Who is he?

What I got out of this article when i read it , is exactly why tigers always find themselves in these Galvin and da Silva predicaments . Basically promising the world to kids , why would you indicate to a kid that is still in sg ball that he may get a gig at some stage in first grade when he hasn't even completed the pre season .
so make him feel like he is a superstar and deserves everything and when he won't get it , he will walk out
Let me guess "he was too small for the NRL"
