As the local newspaper reports , Lamb said he has played football and nothing else , never had a real job and so he says he wants to experience a normal sort of life without the strict regime of NRL training and commitments . He has been offfered an electician apprenticeship . Considering the stability including income from a lifetime trade qualification against a few more years of uncertain footy career , it sounds like Lamb has made the best decision ? https://www.maitlandmercury.com.au/story/6584586/brock-lamb-signs-w...
Brock Lamb signs with Maitland Pickers
Brock Lamb has turned his back on a contract with the Parramatta Eeels to return home to the Maitland Pickers and playing with his mates.
Pops, I tend to agree, if he can get a job as an apprentice electrician, would set him up better for the future. Certainly moving back to his home ground of Maitland provides him with reconnection with family, and he can still play RL with prospects of once he gets the trade side of his life in order he could still play NRL if he was interested in chasing a club.
I would prefer us to use this opportunity to sign Baptiste or Levi as back up. Both would dirt cheap. We have only 25 spots in our top 30 atm too so im wondering how much money is left in the cap
"You're right Poppa. We all saw what Illawarra did to us on Saturday night with Ryley not there. He has to be our starting 9. It took us 45 minutes to work out how to play without him there. "

Only a mediocre back up, who cares.
