Bailey Simonsson To Remain At The Eels

TCT posted that a source has told them Simmo will stay with the eels.

Simmo commented on the post essentially confirming that it is true.

        • he had a contract didn't he? So even if we didn't want him there's nothing we can do about it. All I'm reading here is nobody else wanted him still can't seem playing first grade

        • But an expected failure is not as noticeable.

          • true.

    • lane went ok after we signed him from manly

      • true. I forgot Lane came from there too. He wasn't a failure.

        • Nice try Mr and Mrs Lane, your son Shaun was a failure too.

          • A bit early to be on the ice pipe, isn't it?

  • Mmmmmmm guess that's what happens when you spit the dummy like that., and demand to speak to other clubs/demand a release.  Other clubs are not interested in players becoming spoilt brats in public.
Probably a very lucky man he has a coach that wanted him in the first place and extended his contract.
Perhaps it's time for him to really put in and demand a spot via overwhelming form and attitude, not just a belief of entitlement. Some form worthy of  highlight reels wouldn't go astray.

If he dosnt pull his finger out soon , a permanent position as a backup is all he'll be unfortunately.

    • Three things I like about this Bluey:

      1. JR/Club is giving Simmo another chance. Mature. Adaptable.

      2. Simmo has a chance at redemption. Being better. Kaizen.

      3. It's a good example of authenticity & alignment. The club wasn't afraid to let him go if he wasn't really on the Ryles bus, despite having multiple years left on his contract.

      • my biggest concern is that he is staying as he had no other suitors. Tail between the legs returning to his contract.

next i'm worried that once predisposed to feeling entitled, and feeling he was playing well enough for a 1st grade spot, what changes and how does he overcome that, when not selected first again.

next, is he all in, easy words i h harder to put in practise when you feel hard done by.

do we end up with a player, disgruntled , only here to pick up his paycheck for the next 2 / 3 years, or has he retuned a changed, possessed man to do all he can to be a regular first grader in a team bound to finals footy.

"I disagree. Ponga has nowhere near the skill set Walsh has and I'm not bagging Ponga but Walsh is a freak. Walsh is faster, stronger and a superior kicking game. I also think Walsh is a better student of the game, Ponga is naturally gifted but…"

"Bloomfield and Sorovi. Moala too. All 3 turn 18 next year so will be in SG ball. The 2 you mentioned are guns too.
Davis and Bamblett are gun fullbacks"
