So we have 7 spots open for the NRL squad for 2026 if my assumptions for who is let go is correct. This should leave plenty of money with some big $ players leaving the club including Matterson, Lane, Simmo & Cartwright plus money from Lussick and hands.
In the 1-17 I have listed above the key targets would be a centre a 6 and a Prop. The rest will be reserves.

Richard Penisini will be there in 2026. Why would he be let go
AMS also is on minimal $$$ and will probably have another year; and should be as he is v promising and had a terrible run with injuries. R Penis will be also be kept
Richard Penisini will be kept and one of either Hands or Lussick will be kept. Cant not have a 3rd string hooker and we have no one in Cup who is ready to go on a Dev Deal.
Why either Lussick or Hands? You can get a capable 3rd string Hooker off the street. People will complain about the type but they are 3rd string for a reason.
Yeah Lussick as cup 9 on minimum wage is quite sensible. Release Hands instead.
Bailey, Hands and Matterson will all likely not be here, which means we have 5 spaces and a bit of money.
I'll be very surprised if that's filled all by signings. I expect 2 more signings max, a back and a prop. Then the rest will be filled from juniors.
