I'm not a huge fan of Galvin primarily because I think he has big ego and because who his manager is , having your halves both managed by Isaac Moses is a recipe for future disaster and we simply don't have the management who could handle Isaac if he decided to pull one of his tricks .
The other thing is that it is unlikely that Galvin will be available until 2027 . Longi has all the skills and ability to be a outstanding 6 which then leaves a vacancy at fullback , I would do whatever it takes to get Selwyn Cobbo as it's a safer bet paying big dollars for Cobbo than it is for Galvin .

Exactly. Let the kid figure out NRL first and become a seasoned first grader. Why complicate it further just to try and strengthen a position that is quite frankly the least of our worries. A fullback is more important than a Five-Eighth.
Not saying I wouldn't want Galvin, by all means I would love him, but it would be a luxary.
Agree.
Can not see him defending in the line at present and some of the passes I have seen him throw do not leave me with much confidence in swift and workable transition into the 6 role.
Each week Ionghi is getting better at the back, needs to work on his positioning on our line but with Moses back I can see him flourishing in the 1 role moving forward.
Galvin is still young and raw but the risk would be worth it. He has great vision now at his age and can put a man through a hole where Dylbags has not been able to conjure for a little bit now.
We would be dangerous on both edges in attack.
Just need some solid forwards to sign on, if there are any. At present our edge forwards seem like we got them off Temu.
Galvin loves footy and has similar desire and work ethic to players like Cronk and Cleary.. His work ethic will see him succeed but the price tag is concerning at this stage. He is running out of options so there is no need to pay overs if he wants to play for us. We haven't had many players who love the club and play for the jersey so would love to see he him in blue and gold
I read that Dearden is on less than 700k a year at the moment. He is a Qld boy and unlikely to come but would be my choice if we're spending a million on someone. Dearden is more a million dollar player than Brown, Hunt, Galvin or variety of halves.
Not sure about Iongi at 5/8 but Papalii is involved in plenty of tries in NSW cup. Doesn't he have experience in the halves as well. I would rather give him a shot, over moving Iongi if we miss out on Galvin and invest in forwards and dummy half.
I'd be sticking with Iongi at FB and Galvin for 5/8. We all know his manager is ruthless, and it's clearly just a ploy to get him it of his final contract year.
I'd have Cobbo on the wing, but I prefer Iongi at FB because of his ball playing ability.
As much as I would love to see Cobbo at Parra, I wouldn't be moving Iongi from the fullback role to accommodate him.
Also, if we can get Galvin from next year, I can't see any reason why we wouldn't regardless of who his manager is.
I see a Moses/Galvin pairing as a far more dangerous and exciting prospect than a Moses/Brown pairing or a Moses/Iongi pairing.
1. Iongi
6. Galvin
7. Moses
9. Smith
That is a spine that can go a long way.
Iongi has been bought here as a fullback that's where I'd keep him. He's on the right sought of trajectory so I keep that on track.
Cobbo is a talent for sure but I have a suspicion he's to big for the modern day fullback and doesn't have the cardio for the position.Fullbacks have to be everywhere these days everywhere.I think alot fall in love with Cobbo with the ball but I'm sure how good he is without it.
Yes he can change games but how consistently he can do that leaves me uneasy and then there's how much you have to drop into this guy to be your 1.Nah I'd be sticking with Iongi.
If we are looking for an alternative for Galvin why look outside when we can just move Dylan Walker to 6 and wait on Galvin till 26.The answers already on the roster.
I suggested this the 1st time I laid eyes on Iongi. Tedesco and Paps are nowhere near as talented ball players as Iongi, their best assets are their running and support game. Personally I think Iongi is more suited to 6 than 1, not that I think he is a bad 1 at all, I think he needs to improve his support game.
Personally I agree with Fong but I'd be going after Faalogo or Papenhausen not Cobbo
Just another thought about this year, Papali seems to be heavily involved with everything good that's happening in NSW cup. I'd love to experiment with him on the bench and look to use him as a 2nd fullback. Using Iongi in our backline shape, than using Papali sniffing around our halves when they run. Papali could also run some inside lines, holding defenders in the middle creating space out wide. I know it's different, but I'd love for Parra to be innovative rather than reactionary for a change
Our Front Office wouldnt have the capacity to think outside the box like this Frankie. Its too complicated
1. It safguards the club against one player manager monopolizing our squad.
2. Cobbo is a gamebreaker and X factor. He will have to improve his fitness and defensive IQ to run our team at Fullback. He does have a tendacy to go missing in a season so that is one red flag
3. Iongi at 6 could prove a master stroke.
anyway knowing Parra we will sign Galvan for epic cash and it will be like Boobie man at 21 groundhog day ....
time will tell ?
Agree with cobbo he's a must in any side
