Well the Sunday junkyard fight, scheduled to go 80 mins, was over after 12. Roosters had scored several TKOs in that time to knock the stuffing out of the Parra forwards.
We were totally out of our depth today as Roosters played a power game to completely humiliate us. Their size and aggression completely nullified our game. We looked nothing like a top 8 contender.
Sorry but you don't bring pampered pooches Mannah, Gower, Pritchard, Alvaro, Moeroa and Vave to a fight against renowned and rabid junkyard dogs in J W-H, Napa, Cordner,Teteveno, Taukeiaho and Friend. Our only aggressive forwards are Ma'u, Brown and Matagi (for about 20 mins) but all are small and considerably outweighed by their opponents.
Now I have been rabbiting on for some time about how small our forwards are. I have been copping considerable criticism from many members here touting how our pack is either top 8 or 4. Well today comprehensively demonstrated that they are neither.
Its about time BA grasped the mettle. He needs to go out and buy every big and aggressive forward he can. Packer (StG) is one that comes to mind. Parra needs to open its cheque book to buy a premiership. That's what good teams continually do. Sorry BA but Evans and Moses won't cut the mustard, more pampered pooches for mine.
Reading thru the blogs since the debacle I'm continually amazed by how many of our supporters readily accept mediocrity. While ever we do we'll continually have a mediocre team.
Come on supporters, get that blood boiling. Expect, NO DEMAND, that any future team put on the paddock is big, aggressive and always competitive.

Tell me ONE member on here that would criticize anyone???? haha ok maybe a couple
Glenn you keep going on about BIG forwards and our lack of them. Ive done this before but Ive done it again, tell me whether we are so disadvantaged? JWH is big but Tepai isnt too far away from him.
What we lack is not size its control and composure.
JWH – 193 – 116 vs Matagi – 179 - 107
NAPA – 194 – 109 vs Mannah – 184 - 108
Cordner – 188 – 102 vs Moeroa – 190 - 111
Aubusson – 181 – 98 vs Mau – 184 - 105
Taukeiaho – 184 – 101 vs Brown – 185 - 107
Watson – 176 – 86 vs Vave – 188 - 115
Evans – 199 – 110 vs Alvaro – 190 - 108
Tetevano – 187 – 107 vs Edwards – 185 - 106
Guerra – 190 – 103 vs Gower – 190 - 105
Rider you can't honestly tell me Napa, Taukeiaho, Tetevano aren't over 110 and most of the rest except Aubusson aren't heavier than their published weights. Cordner is MUCH larger than Ma'u who is listed at 103kg which is probably correct.
Summed it up brilliantly - Its been the same issue at Parra for as long as i can remember. We have a stockpile of backrowers but lack some front leadership. A perfect example was the set leading up to Tupous' try in the 1st half. there were 2 or 3 carts from dummy half by the backs then a forward finally gets the ball and instead of Kenny tucking it under his wing and hitting it up, he throws a stupid pass out the back to nobody.
They were unwilling to roll up the sleeves and rip in yesterday.
Parra were not willing to roll up the sleeves and do the dirty work. I still think a large part of that is there is no real leadership out there. Someone calling the shots. Its been an issue at the club for a while now and i believe Foran solved the issue when we got him. We need to find an equivalent
Pfft u used to be a Sandow fan, probably still are
If we stop dropping balls, giving away penalties and be more effective in tackles, this will go a long way to winning these types of games. Easts put us on the back foot early on in the game and we never recovered. We have shown that we can be very effective this year if we follow the game plan, but when we don't things generally go very bad.
We came into this season with one established half, and this has really hurt us, and yes the Foran episode is the main reason for this (who else was available for this season?). Taka, Gutherson and Smith have stood in well, but they are still stand-in halves. If Moses comes in this year that will help a little, but he's not going to turn things around instantly.
The question the club needs to ask itself, is why do we keep letting ourselves down? Is it mental or physical? Do we have the right people, and do they have the right roles to play? Sacking people at this stage will only send us back even further. There comes a time when the best option is to make very strategic and well planned decisions.
