                    • Josh Addo-Carr, Dylan Walker and JDB. Players that became suddenly available and we grabbed.

Don't move the goal posts here. People are talking about a "marquee" signing, not experienced depth signings like you're referring to. We only got the big 4 because SL up-ended the player market.

The Smith signings (outside of the big 4 as they were Super League created) were usually in compliment to the juniors we had. He also signed complete duds like Chris Thorman, Jack Afamasaga, Andrew McFadden and Lee Hopkins.

And 2003 and 2004 say hello. We became a very inconsistent team after 2001 and while we made finals in 2002 we weren't a premiership threat, before we completely dropped away in 2003 and 2004.

                    • Bit harsh on lee hopkins i thought he was a decent buy for us.

            • 101, take your meds or hand the phone to the other person who posts on your account.....I like them better

  • If you could name a player to bring in as Lomax replacement who is a realistic possibility, for less money, who is there. I thought Garrick was perfect, he is Bondi bound. He had finishing prowess, goal kicking, backline versatility, experience.
Who else is there that could play centre or wing with goal kicking an optional extra? I think that's what is causing the silence. There aren't many names to toss around.

The worst thing we can do is take a risk on someone who could replace Lomax instead of taking the risk on guys like Nanva, Richie, Alameddine, Beau even the Rok. These guys could replace him on an 80k contract. Ofcourse their output wouldn't be as high but if it is relative to the dint they put on the salary cap then we are fine and dandy.

Apparently we are not interested in Averilll which could only be due to an over evaluation by his management as other than that he seems perfect. He was good enough for Wayne so we know he is a good kid.

DWZ? Would he want to leave NZ? I don't think he will be renewed there and everyone says Webby loves Berry.. something to keep an eye on. If Sharks pay half of Ramiens deal I'd take him for sure.

    • These guys could replace him on an 80k contract...what in the actual fuck are you on?...it doesn't matter. Stop taking it or take more of it, whatever, but we are not replacing Lomax for $80k...fmd

      • Well that was nearly "ballistic" glad it was not me who said that.....

        Your right by the way!

Dynasty should look up the pay scales, I don't think there is anything below 125K in the top 30 game, even that maybe higher this year?

      • Randy and Poppa. Just to simply the message a little.
        1. This is the situation we are in. The fact we are means that the most likely scenario is we will sign a first grader.
        2.  Relative to their impact on the cap, meaning they need to be outplaying their modest salaries for us to be any chance to fill the void.

        • I will simplify it for you instead Loader

1..I got to the part where we are going to "replace" Lomax with an $80k diamond in the rough and stopped reading or caring as it became impossible to take seriously.

          2...refer to 1.

  • I am not sure why people are desperate for signings here.

By all means we are going for Keoan it seems. Only someone like him or the likes of Haas/Tino can really add to our forwards.

We need a backup at the backs but those can be signed anytime overall, we might just be waiting to see who is left unattached and can come for pittance.

The only position in our 17 you'd say we are "lacking" in is 5/8, assuming you don't think of Pezet cause he's a one year thing and youre not conviced by Joash (understandably). But there is no one established at 6 in the market.

"Well i am thinking we are content with what we have perhaps? Ryles may value cap space being used on positions other than Wingers? Some will say JAC is on high salary, i doubt it since when we got him he would have taken what given to play at…"

"Yeah seems to be a bit of an odd signing in hindsight. We signed him before Hopgood moved to Prop i believe and that was a relevalation. I feel we have a few experienced forwards, Paulo, Walker, Williams, even Hopgood is getting there now.

"I really didn't think we needed De Belin, no matter how cheap we got him for. We lack big mobile metre eaters with leg speed and Junior isnt going to be one. I would be happy if we didn't extend his contract TBH."
