  • Thanks Tad, I will give this a go. I have been suffering from an incurable disease that’s been getting around called old age which plays havoc with the back as you try to stay active.

One thing I do use that helps my back that requires no physical effort is a shakti mat. It is like a bed of nails. Painful at first but then after lying on it for awhile you can just about fall asleep on it.

Relieves  all the tension in your back.

Can honestly say it works for backpain.

    • Thanks PD I will let Sterlo know about it as well.. Seriously it does a great old back stretch.

  • I suffered pretty severe back issues for 5 years . It's tourture and can be very draining on you physically and mentally .  One of my biggest struggles with severe back pain was the fact that unless you've had it you can't relate to someone suffering from it including your doctors and physios .  You start to doubt yourself and doubt whether people believe just how tiring and painfull it can be .  And tests don't always pick up issues , so sometimes you're in a world of pain and your highly paid specialists are telling you theres nothing they can see wrong with you .  I honestly reckon I was close to being at the stage of thinking about topping  myself at one point  .

I got to a stage where I was prepared to go to any extreme measure to stop the pain including some pretty risky and unproven operations .  My best advice to anyone going through it is to not settle for one doctor , specialist or physio if they're not telling you what you're wanting to hear .  I found out there's some real incapable pretenders in our medical system .  7 physios and 4 specialists later and I am 80% better .

    • On another note , this may sound strange but there's a product for horses that's a bit of a short term miracle cure called RapiGel that works unreal .  It's like a deap heat but 100x better .  Anyone with arthritis or muscle pain etc , get on it and thank me later .

get ya nan some for Mother's Day and she'll leave you her inheritance it's that good .

      • You think thats good. Try this, but be careful to apply with clean hands only and dont have any crap on your skin because it can pull it into your body.

        But it really works.

Note: Anyone thinking of this should do a little research on line first.

7 Things you may not have known about DMSO use in horses - The Horse Owner's Resource

        • Rider I use DMSO as well. Works well. The exercise is meant to straighten your skeletal structure

        • I bought 2 bottles to use on my sore knees.Haven't touched them in a while as various assistance exercises to strengthen the glutes and quads are keeping the knee pain at bay.You need to realise that DMSO.Deep Heat etc merely mask the issue as the barely penetrate the epidermis.

    • you are right Wizz .I have been to quite a number. Some are hopeless --same treatment irrespective of what the issue is. A good diagnosis is what you want to get. 2nd and 3 rd opinions never hurt.

  • I'm 37 with degrenative back problem and I just slipped a disc so I'm keen to try any exercises

    • Try a bit of Rapigel and then go for a piss without washing your hands mate . I can say with full confidence you will get at least 10 minutes of relief from your back pain .
