The NRL must be stocked with the attendance this weekend... 28k on Friday, 26k in Auckland, 17k last night and plenty of empty seats for today's game. And that's despite most of the stadiums holding much larger numbers.
With Souths now gone, and Newcastle without a home game, there are no other clubs that will pull big numbers. Imagine a finals series with Parra, Canterbury, St George, Souths, Brisbane, Newcastle, Wests.

Imagine how little Panthers fans will turn up to the next game if the NRL wipe Cleary out. Halve what showed up today.
NRL will be praying for Warriors to play them as they draw a good crowd.
Granted Newcastle do aswell. But that final will be at Accor so it'll look worse.
PVL will make sure Cleary doesn't get anything mate; I try and imagine our club with a decent HOF!!
On another note , one random observation is Fitzy and Holbrook are coaching against their mentor in the finals. As was /is Woolfe and Webster. The only coach without a link to other coaches was Payten.
Just on Robinson, this is probably the first season I've been impressed with his coaching. He's had some key injuries , and his squads not the usual cherry picked bought team. Obviously he's still quite blessed , but he's done well .
he's not a mug!
Last year i felt he did well with the injuries early in the year. One stage there his bench had the equivalent to like 20 NRL games and still won most games.
They'll be concerned but the fact they've expanded and they've just signed the richest TV deal in Australasian sports history I think will cover up the lack of crowd numbers a little.
It's on those popular clubs with supporter bases to be better and make these finals the nrl can't manufacture in club support that's on the clubs to mobilise there masses.I also think cost of living has a bit to do with low club attendances in the finals also.I know the Warriors ticket pricing is very competitive here hence why they fill there stadium every week. It's the first time in there history they've sold out there stadium for every game of the year aswell.
Everyone's probably broke.
This is the key point. Your average families are struggling to fill their car up. And these bananas are the stadiums have signed super lucrative agreements with caterers and suppliers who'll then expliot their monopoly and charge super ridiculous prices to make their money back. It's just farkin greed. The Government , NRL and clubs are banking all the cash when they could request tenders are structured to keep it cost friendly. They don't give two fucks about the punters , and sucked in, the punters are now voting with their wallets. I've tendered for stadiums , and I've walked away from stadiums. Last year I walked away and didn't bother submitting for a Gov run group of 3 venues as their demands were dumb, now that bunch of stadiums are left with limited options other than to stick with one supplier who now charges them like a wounded bull , knowing we are not going to bother submitting an alternative.
People would rather sit at home for free than to blow $250+ to watch referees and NRL ruin games with rubbish calls and inconsistencies. There's not even an effort to make it an experience worth the money.
The Dragons went to more effort the other week for a wooden spoon celebration than the NRL did last weekend for a finals game.
$18 mid strength beer at one on the weekend lol. Idiots.
