Will Moses be in Origin 2 & Should He?

Just wondering what other Eels fans are thinking about Mitchell Moses possibly being selected by Coach Daley for Origin 2. I personally don't think he should be selected because of his injuries and also his form this year hasn't been the greatest.

I think it's more important he gets himself 100% fit and spends more time on the field for Parra the Origin. It seems everytime he plays in Origin he either picks up some injury or aggravates current injuries that sidelines him for Parra matches.

What do others on here think?

        • If I didn't need it I would, if I was really committed to my club and putting their interest first I would

          • Right and when they are off-contract and demand more money is that them needing it? Players will try and get most money they can, I reckon we are all the same if we had a chance to get an extra $30k majority of us are taking it.

            • like I said IF I / We didn't need the $30k and there was possibly of succumbing to an injury or exasperating a current injury then most players would decline. Moses is clearly in that current category. Does he really need the extra $30k maybe and maybe not. Does he have current injury concerns definitely yes! Would playing Origin more likely to cause or exasperate his injury? Definitely Yes! He has to weigh it all up. My advice would be not to play Origin and concentrate on his club football

              • Well if NSW medical staff clear you to play, you play. If he is cleared to play and is getting $30k, you take it. Like we all would for Origin.

    • But that is not the point HH, its the choice of the NSW Origin selectors, who if they pick him and he declined, they can stop him playing for his club anyway......he would have to formally retire from rep duty otherwise and really his rep career doesn't warrant retirement, what's he played half a dozen origins and a couple of tests?

      • Are you saying Moses, Ryles and the NSW selectors won't read my message Pops? That's not fair!

  • Moses was quoted as saying he wanted to play this weekend so it isn't a case of himself stepping down but medical staff saying he isn't ready or not worth the risk so don't know why some are saying Moses isn't committed to the eels.

The other thing people are missing is we signed Lomax after Moses and Lomax got on well in origin camp.  We need signings and if players are available come November 1st having Moses build relationships with them and talking about the set up at eels and what the club is building can only help the club

I can't see many other options for Moses on $1,300,000 per season. I would also guess he is on a ratchet clause meaning his $1,300,000 could become $1,500,000 when the new broadcast deal is done. The $30,000 per game for Origin is actually less…"
