Will Eels Finish Better Than 2024

Currently the Eels sit in 14th position but could have been higher if they would have beaten the Bunnies. Last year they finished in 15th position. There are 3 more rounds left and they play Roosters at home, Warriors away and lastly Knights at home. I honestly can only see them winning 1 of them. This would put them on 22 Points. The teams below them are:

Rabbits: play Dragons, Bye, Roosters

Knights: play Broncos, Sharks, Eels

Titans: play Warriors, Dolphins, Raiders

I reckon the Eels will finish in 14th spot which is one better than last year. Nothing to get excited about

  • The difference between the years is we now have more stability going into next year. Except for five/eighth we pretty much know the 1-17.

If we get the 6 right, only injuries will prevent a better year in 2026. Fingers crossed.

    • There is 1 big difference. We did it this year with a young side and well under the salary cap, not like last year with a team full of overpriced floggs.

  • How sad are we.

  • It's another lovely day in Parradise.

  • We won 7 games last year and have already won 7. I can see us winning 2/3 (warriors who have been in poor form and knights)

  • To get a slightly better result whilst clearing out nearly all of our senior players and ushering in a bunch of junior talent... Not a bad result.

Gutho and RCG were close to our best players last year. Both moved on. Along with Brown, Carry, Matto, Lane, Sivo, Talagi, Asi, Harper, Ofa, Hands, Cini...not sure if I missed any.

That's a complete rebuild, with a lot of juniors to set up the future. Within one season. AND we should do better than last year.

As far as rebuilds go that's an exceptional effort. Adding to that our defence has improved significantly over the season and since Mitch has returned we've been in every game.

This season was always about a rebuild. But to gut the team and not come dead last, that'll be a pass mark for this season and completely different to the train wreck of last year.

    • Not really much difference from 9th to 17th all those teams could probably beat each other on any given day. For the most part a solid season can't expect much more with a gutted roster

    • Rebuild is an excuse

      • If near same result next year could it be 'rebuilding part 2' 😂

        • Rebuilds are annoying but effective once completed. You can clear out the older players and suffer a bit or load up with old players and finish middle of the ladder (dragons, manly Newcastle)
