I dont see why Morts should be dropped at this time of the season?
Fair enough he has looked out of place with the work-load on his shoulder's, and has had issue's in his kicking game. But It's not totally his fault the way the team is playing. Its just unfortunate that he cant handle what the coaching team has given him to do, and I think its a bit unfair.
Firstly he shouldnt be kicking from inside our half, and secondly he shouldnt be ball playing to much. The kid is a natural footballer with a great running & support playing game and has a high work rate, with solid defence. Just leave him to run, support and defend, and im sure he will come into his own when the team is rolling.
Seriously if you gonna sack him in the final rounds, i think its a bit to late and not a good thing for his confidence for the next season. He has never given up in games like some other players in the team and if he had a good halfback and dummyhalf along side him we wouldnt even be talking about this.
Sacking Morts is not the answer to our problem. Bringing an experienced halfback to play alongside him is the solution in my opinion.

2. With the dearth of halves/hookers I think the club wants to look at Mitchell.
3. Maybe there is a certain amount of arse-covering in this. If this doesn't work, the administration can say - look leaving Mortimer out didn't work either. If it does work, and we make the finals, we're all happy again.
4. You just can't keep leaving your head in the sand and hoping things will get better. That's what Hagan did. Our season is not over yet and its up to the coaching staff to keep tinkering until they find the right formula.
It would be cheaper than buying players and would bring the already sighned players along heaps
Because DA's job is on the line.
Im not bagging Morts he hasn't stopped trying but he just doesn't have the skills to play 7 in the NRL. The best thing for him would have been a stint at wenty until he regained his confidence and form.
