Lot of fans are upset with the one year Pezet deal, and I understand that. But let's look at the calls Ryles has made since joining the club.
Gutho and RCG getting moved on immediately got some backlash as well, big call but Ryles was correct. Lot of people didn't like this at the time.
Brought in his own group of players that fit the system he wants to play, might not be big names but they fit the style. Jack Williams Dylan Walker types.
Sean Russell the most hated eel on the roster. Ryles has given him the confidence to be a starter. He's taken that and run with it.
Give this loan with Pezet thing a chance and let's see what else happens around that before throwing all the toys out of the cot.

I think we can all admit this deal is weird. I've never heard of any other club making this kind of deal before. This is off the back of the other weird deal we offered DB, which no club had ever offered before also. Why do we stitch ourselves up when it comes to recruitment and retention? It's amateurish, and anyone calling it anything else is kidding themselves.
It is not in line with what we've been sold from Ryles. Something smells off and it's completely fair for fans to call it out. I'm not going to say it's a disaster, only time will tell but it is yet another weird deal with a lot of potential to disrupt the club. it seems desperate, risky and illogical. I'm doubting the club just as much as Ryles with this one.
Ryles has made some tough calls before and came out on the other side. So i trust he can get out of this one but if happens where we have Talataina or Joash at 6 for 2027 and Pezet goes onto to be star, he would look like an idiot. Now Pezet could have been that without us but being in the building that will tarnish him and even worse get the fans off his side. Once they are off you it is very, very difficult to get them back.
LB, Fair dinkum. Pezet can play 6, short-term, but wants to be a 7. He's admitted it. It's why he had the PO clause if Hughes resigned. It's why we knew he wasn't a long-term option with us. He ain't waiting four years for Moses or Hughes.
I wouldn't write off Joash yet, either. He's valued and respected at the club. Though there might be some honest conversations and more reps in reggies, in between some NRL, bidding his time.
Joash has played four games at six, had 2 seasons in reggies at the Dogs. Iongi and Hoppy had 3-4 solid years in reggies before hitting the ground running at NRL leve. Pezet about 5 years in between reggies, his ACL and NRL.
HOE I said I reckon he can get out of the negative noise but let's be fair he's had a good start with fans, if this backfires he will lose them quick.
As for Joash, if Pezet starting I doubt Joash plays 6 in Cup. If he ain't playing 6 how's he developing? I reckon Lorenzo will be the 6 in Cup now.

If we had finished the season the same way we started it getting beat by 50 I'd agree with you guys and there would be no point in bringing in a Pezet to help Moses. But they took it to teams like Brisbane roosters warriors and showed that they can win right now. I think that shifted Ryles thinking, from let's develop Joash at 6 to let's bring someone in to help Moses immediately even if it is a one year thing
