Lot of fans are upset with the one year Pezet deal, and I understand that. But let's look at the calls Ryles has made since joining the club.
Gutho and RCG getting moved on immediately got some backlash as well, big call but Ryles was correct. Lot of people didn't like this at the time.
Brought in his own group of players that fit the system he wants to play, might not be big names but they fit the style. Jack Williams Dylan Walker types.
Sean Russell the most hated eel on the roster. Ryles has given him the confidence to be a starter. He's taken that and run with it.
Give this loan with Pezet thing a chance and let's see what else happens around that before throwing all the toys out of the cot.

yes still searching but not committing long term money to a player that might work or might not work. Need to assess Joash and Lorenzo more no need to rush into forcing them to play nrl. Their time will come.
Love your positivity, and like you, trusting Ryles judgement - he has earned that.
But, this looks ridiculous optically & on paper. Very much hope to be wrong.
It's definitely unusual and looks strange but I think Pezet can help us a lot in 2026. Ryles focus shifting a little to win now after that run to end the season.
What. Is. The. Risk!?
There is NO risk. None.
Take a deep breath mate
I'd rather Pezet on 1 year over what dogs have done with Galvin for 4 years. He completely derailed their side and now they stuck with him and have to make it work. Ryles is calculated he's not going to sign anyone long term just to say I got this guy 😂
Galvin was the clubs guy they wanted Galvin and wanted him badly had a multi year multi million dollar deal on the table ready to go.It was reported Parra officials were very confident.Galvin was the perfect fit here straight into a running playmaking 6 role next to Moses with the potential to fill out his frame and become our version of Isaiah Yeo in 4-5 seasons down the track.
Pezet for a year yep I guess for the win he did choose us..,,,,,,,,,,for a season.
If you can't see any risk here, or how this looks for a club who have missed & lost signings recently, I don't know where to start.
The Eels are clearly not a destination club for young halves, and this further solidifies that with Pezet rejecting a long term deal here (if true).
Our recruitment takes another optical hit which can further impact other players we chase. We need an R&R win, a big one.
I don't need a deep breath mate, Im very calm though appreciate your concern, and as I said will back Ryles judgement, but also not naive enough to look at this purely on face value, without considering the obvious impacts.
He had the option of going cowboys or raiders on the loan. He chose Parra due to Ryles being the coach and we are on the up swing. Sounds positive to me
The Eels could sign a pomeranian and it would sound positive to you, Eli. Which I respect. Good on you.
I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if Pezet helps the Eels make finals next season, we see no negative impacts on the squad, we lose no juniors, Joash stays, and we have a difinitive 5/8th plan for 2027 to finally replace Dylan Brown.
😂😂😂
Poor pommie
