Where do we see the EELS finishing?

Just eager to see where everyone thinks we will place on the table come season end?As of now, I have us between 6th-10th, just depending on injuries and how much our middle defence improves throughout the year. Another factor is if we unearth some youngsters like brown and how they impact the team. However, if we somehow snag a result this week against Penrith we will be sitting at 3 wins and 1 losses, which is remarkable considering we would have versed the best 3 teams, all away from home.

              • Miss Lomaz and Brown , Lomaz may be slight loss as yes he did run 200m a gams as for Brown he was spasmotic at best , seldom ran more than 20m a game all he primarely did was pass the ball on.

yes every now and then he would something , mostly just passing the ball , when moses was out injured and Brown was asked to stepup and lead the team we went nowhere as he went missing  , try and argue that

                • How did the fowards go when Moses was out and they expected Brown to anything I mean it's not a one man show here as even when Moses came back eithbBrown the team still lost go figure.

Bottom line here is Pezet and Simonsson aren't in the same ball park talent wise vs Brown and Lomax they aren't in the same area code. How many times you think you'll see Pezet cut a hard running back rower in half ? Or Simonsson winning games like Lomax had the ability to do.

Thats the problem here you can't expect miracles from players who 1 don't have the same talent level and 2 just aren't as good pure and simple and there's no magic dust JR is sprinkling that's c hanging that fact.

                  • listen , it now about how big you are in the fight its how big the fight is in you , as for Pezet he has more tries and try assist than Brown had for the 10 games , if you remember 2 years ago they killed Moses a speed bump look at him now , I agree about Bailey , he may not be a Lomax but he doent make too many mistakes either

as for our forwards they are all up and coming forwards they will mature , they held their own against Manly and Broncos , if we played the storm now the would be anywhere near that high , we have the ability to beat any team on paddock

                    • Well you fcuked up everything in that post....I may as well bring up the fight in the dog as well.

                    • See your still missing it.

The recruitment was concentrated in the middles and 6 we landed none of thee above. When your coach mentions how good and how important the recruitment is and the mentioned spots aren't filled your a weaker side despite what is up n coming.

Speaking of up n coming how long does this take when matched up with Moses's prime hence why losing Lomax and DB magnifies this issue right now you have to maximise the mentioned prime losing DB and Lomax lessens the chances of doing the mentioned and not upgrading the talent in the recruitment areas weakens the side and the mentioned chances that's the issue I see with this side right now.

                    • how did I fuck that up ? Poppa

      • You realise Guymer played out of position right?

        • Agreed LB, out of all our young forwards with the variations in the performances (Taiviti aside) I think Guymer is the most consistent in terms of performance, i say that because others have higher planes but Guymer is very trustworthy in his undertakings.

LB you are obviously right in him playing out of position, but I thought it was a clever move on Ryles part, Guymer played in the centres a few years back (captained a winning side from that position as well), obviously heavier slower now, a genuine middle but having that centre experience enabled him to position himself and also mark Suli front on, who was causing some damage.

          • I had no issues with Guymer playing Centre and honestly felt he did fine. Was not a liability at all. Though me saying he was playing out of position must give him grace in the eyes of others as if you put Moses at Fullback you are going to get a not so good performance. Put Paulo on an edge, same result. Iongi at Hooker. You cannot compared Guymer and de Belin in form at the moment when the only position Guymer has played this year is Centre, a postion he has not played since SG Ball i believe.

But you are right, you know what you are getting from Charlie. He will miss some tackles, he wont make a lot of metres but he will give 100%, his first contact can be good, his defence can be reliable and he will get a quick play the ball out of him. Also can play middle and edge in a pinch.

            • I think his line speed is ok as well,  he also seems to find himself in a handy position when there is a loose ball around close to the line.

It was St George's game to win as the match progressed, undoubtably!.....that said our defence in the last 17 minutes was deserving. The mistake's we did make were defensive early in the game and we had a few line ball…"

"I do like Simonsson at Centre, but for this week it doesn't matter where you play Kelly, you could bury him under the ground, Penrith will find him."
