Where do we see the EELS finishing?

Just eager to see where everyone thinks we will place on the table come season end?As of now, I have us between 6th-10th, just depending on injuries and how much our middle defence improves throughout the year. Another factor is if we unearth some youngsters like brown and how they impact the team. However, if we somehow snag a result this week against Penrith we will be sitting at 3 wins and 1 losses, which is remarkable considering we would have versed the best 3 teams, all away from home.

  • I've got serious concerns with our middles. (And with Pezet). Unless we fix those glaring issues I can't see us making the 8.

    • Last year our middle defence was the same early on

it improved as the season went on, hopefully the same for this year

    • Any bets this year  muttman?????

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If muttman says we're missing. - go all in to make the 8 🥰🥰🥰

      • I had us for the spoon. For a very large chunk of the season it was looking like a sure thing. Happy to lose that bet.
No way you can watch the current Eels performances and suggest we're playing finals. We'd need a big spike in performance.

    • Ryles seems to as well, hence the reason for going all in for Keaon and going for Barnett.

    • I'd love to know whats really happened with De-Belin.

Guymer was horrendous in the 30 minutes he played last week yet seems to be above De-Belin in the pecking order, something isn't adding up.

De-Belin wasn't setting the world on fire in the first 2 weeks but there have been plenty worse than him.

      • have to say it , never come across so much negativity as on this 1EyedEel , have no read one positive paragraph, i think the eels are  a strong units and that was shown by the comeback in both games when they were 20 points down and fought back to win them

as I stated , i dont know why  kelly and debelin were picked let alone bought by the club , I know Ryles has history with Debelin from his ST George days

but kelly what a bunk, runs sideway and backwards

        • Probably a lot of frustration mate, we finished last year strongly, with another pre-season under our belt a lot of fans were most definately expecting to see further improvement this season which hasn't happened yet.

We have a lot of flaws for a team getting results.

          • Yes, that's it. And we've underestimated the impact of losing rep players Lomax and Brown and replacing them with... no one equivalent.

            • This is what I don't get how can anyone on here underestimate how the loss of these players isn't affecting our performance. What I think is a lot on here are buying the JR will sprinkle the magic dust BS and she'll be right.

Now we are surprised that Jonah is getting exposed on the edge when in all essence we saw this in part last year with Joash being there. We've also lost that FG experience & running threat on the left side also with DB.

Lomax you lose 20 carrys 200 plus running metres and goal kicking, you also miss the combination with Moses at rep level and you miss the high ball threat and diffusal also.

How the hell fans especially think we aren't missing anything losing these two is a fan pipe dream pure & simple.

You’ve said “Penrith would never do this”, “look at the Panthers” and “Parramatta should follow Penrith’s model”.
That is comparing the clubs from a recruitment and retention perspective.
