When will it be our time?

With another season in the books and another year we fail to life the premiership trophy, I know we won't be winning it in the 2-3 years but is there anything to look forward to that can gives us some hope? Young kids coming through promising through any good?

Shame 09 lost to cheats and 22 ran in to a once in a generation team who were at their peak.

  • I don't believe anyone on this site will still be alive when they finally win another one.

  • It will be our time either when we get a financial backer that can get around the salary cap and buy a competition like the Storm or Roosters or when we can develop a squad from our juniors and have lof term success..

Moneyball is what we have tried to do over the past 8 years and that doesn't work...

  • Our only chance right now without a competent front office is if we get a generational group of juniors that come through at the same time

  • Its about luck with injuries/suspensions and/or having momentum heading into the finals.

Also, luck with the big moments. Big moments arent just about being good either. Sometimes moments are "won" because of refs stuffing stuff up or random cheating like the panthers trainer in 2021.

Technically we could make the gf next year. But just like newcastle we would need a lot to fall into place.

    • Newy, didn't get it easy Nitram

      • 100% not easy. The opposite in fact. But it still needs to fall in place.

  • I hope we end it soon! Parramatta would be buzzing like crazy if that happens!

The Eels have struggled to build momentum showing yearly improvement. They have struggled to build a squad that comes close to a premiership and then improve small parts of the squad. The current roster is much closer to be considered no chance of winning the premiership than it is to be considered a chance. With the NRL aiming for a 20 team competition within the next 4 or 5 years, winning the premiership will only become more difficult. The Eels currently are not even close to being in a premiership window, so predicting when the Eels next win a premiership is nothing more than a guess. It's not something I can see in the near future.
