With another season in the books and another year we fail to life the premiership trophy, I know we won't be winning it in the 2-3 years but is there anything to look forward to that can gives us some hope? Young kids coming through promising through any good?
Shame 09 lost to cheats and 22 ran in to a once in a generation team who were at their peak.

Our only chance right now without a competent front office is if we get a generational group of juniors that come through at the same time
Its about luck with injuries/suspensions and/or having momentum heading into the finals.
Also, luck with the big moments. Big moments arent just about being good either. Sometimes moments are "won" because of refs stuffing stuff up or random cheating like the panthers trainer in 2021.
Technically we could make the gf next year. But just like newcastle we would need a lot to fall into place.
Newy, didn't get it easy Nitram
100% not easy. The opposite in fact. But it still needs to fall in place.
That is it Nitram, your last part. Could we make a GF? Of course we can. Likely? More so not, but anyone can make the GF, that is the beauty of the sport. At least with the appointment of Mike Rush and the supposed chasing of Peter O'Sullivan, this board are going outside the box to fix the admin side of the club. That is a start.
I hope we end it soon! Parramatta would be buzzing like crazy if that happens!
See here is the thing with us compared to Newcastle this week. Everyone and their dog, who weren't Easts fans, wanted Newcastle to win. Oddly enough i wanted Easts to win, but vast majority went for Newcastle as it was a good story.
If we made the GF this year, we would have gotten hardly any support from neutral NRL fans. We are a hated club. In 2022, i actually had peers of mine instead of saying "Good luck, hope they do well for you" they said "We want Penrith to win cause if Parra win, we cannot make jokes anymore". So though we would get a crowd like Newcastle, we would sell a lot of merch like Newcastle, pretty much all the stuff, minus the house painting, we would do the same as Newcastle fans wise. Oh and seeing them off on the bus as they are a Sydney team. But yet we won't be the story. Our drought is a joke to people and they want it to continue. The drought for everyone else is a story.
So buzzing yes as we have a massive and loyal fan base, Commbank will be filled to the brim. But there will be a lot of sorrow for those who wanted us to lose. Even better.
Parramatta is not popular because they have been badly promoted. After the 2014 renaissance, we were quiet popular because they saw us having a go.
Subsequent failures changed this and the tribalism that was Newcastle in isolation makes a difference, Parramatta is so big in a population sense, but the tribalism tends to be suburban rather than the single city of Newcastle.
It will be interesting to see where Newcastle end up next year, we saw the demise of Canberra 12 months after their Minor premiership, Parra after the 2022 demise, even Penrith struggled after the 2024 title (running last at one point), this year will be interesting to see how the Dolphins will be cut up and also the premiers will lose Marky Mark and Cherry, those two probably were the difference of Roosters making the grand final, take away that kick catch game and they haven't got a great deal of attack....this showed up by the Newcastle defencisive pattern.
To people around me who expressed hatred to Parra, it was because of Moses and Gutho mainly.
Easts aren't well liked by opposition supporters, and there are numerous reasons for this. I don't think it would have mattered who they played - you are either an Easts supporter or not, and it has always been that way.
As for Parra, I think it is a very different scenario. Fans of other clubs can see the potential that Parra has, and are worried that once Parra clicks into gear, there is no stopping them. We are a stong financial club with excellent facilities, a very strong and loyal supporter base, and a junior system (though not quite functioning as it should) that regularly produces quality players. We lack vision within the club and wealthy backers that clubs like Easts have, and this is something that is holding us back.
I think people also look at the government spending in Parramatta over the past 10 years of so and are jealous of that. From the outside the Parramatta area could be seen as a favourite child, and opposition fans are probably asking why our club gets to benefit from that wheras they are still fighting for upgrades to their rundown facilities.
