Around the FG side Seraph I don't think there is.I think JR is pretty much the be all and end all in charge there.
Seraph Firstly you not be aware is not surprising. I can make that judgement without working or meeting with you.
Secondly their management styles are not requireing me to work with them to make judgement. An over simplification on my part. BUT I have been told those observations are reasonable.
Finally Ryles acting in the same vein as BA is not relevant, just circumstantial.
"I think Ryles (IMO and I do not know) see's player attitudes that we don't and acts on those in the process he is going through"
Tell me Seraph, would you have it any other way?
I dont dispute Ryles see's actions and attitudes that we dont and acts accordingly. Thats maybe one of the few things we can agree on.
Your entire argument is based on speculation. I guess you don't understand that you don't understand. You either have worked with both of them in the past which means you have first hand knowledge, or haven't which means it is entirely speculative or at best third-hand knowledge.
Inferring what you like from people that have confirmed your own observations is funny considering the times you have attempted to browbeat myself and others for the exact same actions.
I think your pretty accurate there Pops I to think this whole thing is JR or bust I don't think JS or MoN have any sway on how he runs his team or the direction persay he wants to go recruitment and retention wise.In my eyes MoN is a pure facilitator.
So if we want to attract talent it's JR that's going to be the Ace or everything in the hole.We don't have that Gus Gould type in our front office so JR has to be that guy with the FG side and everything pertaining to it.
Easily impressed, that's all I'm gonna say
The big question is if he can learn to play straight and dig in? If not, can't see him making it as a 5/8.
My feeling of Joash is that he is lessor shadow of Iongi, both very similar and their fullback play reflects that. I think Iongi is the better player with the most potential to go to a higher level.
Its a trait that we seem to get with players coming from other clubs (exception being Penrith as they legitimately don't have room (Hopgood and Ilongi being good examples). We seem to be an acceptable haven for Ex Penrith because our location is understood and more than likely they have had junior crossovers within the 2 clubs.
Moretti came from Easts, big wraps iniatially had his chance and Easts let him go, we have perservered for 3 seasons and are now seeing results, Kautonga, Tuilagi, Doory and many of our young forwards (NRL now) fall into the category of not being good enough in their initial try outs with other clubs and are showing us more than any alternatives.
Until we cross the Bridge of Troubled Water Parra will not get first choice (apparently even of our own juniors).
That Bridge is us being finally recognised as being a safe haven for a good player to realise or enforce the comfort of playing with a club they have respect for. We went close to doing that with BA but ultimately he himself could not cross that bridge.
My take is it's some armchair expert just like us having his opinion no different than he's most likley done on here under whatever name he goes by .
Wait till next year, he gonna be really depressed if Joash stays at 5/8. I'd be giving Iongi a go at 5/8 for the rest of the year. Nothing to lose, alot to gain.
Nope play your best Fullback. Thats more important.
