Weidler has more on the former CEO

Now his role in the Eel's current cap and third-party sponsor woes will be put under the microscope. The news that the investigation into Parramatta officials would include a forensic examination of computers was supposed to send shivers down the spine of the Parramatta directors. Instead they are overjoyed, because it will include an investigation of former employees, including Seward. You'll remember that Seward was the chief executive who did a great job in signing Kieran Foran – but he included a clause that allowed him to leave the club and be paid close to a million dollars if there was any "drama" at the club. To say that there is angst surrounding Seward is an understatement. The feeling is the opposite when it comes to Steve Sharp. The respect and regard that the board hold him in has shocked me. From a distance he comes across as bumbling, and he appeared to me to be the wrong man for the job.The board can't speak highly enough of Sharp. Calls for his head have infuriated the board. One board member said: "The new board and CEO have been unfairly treated in the media. We are furious at what appears to be a public hanging of the wrong people. We are fixing up the mess of the old cronies. The investigation will show this."Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/jarryd-hayne-on-another-plane-says-rugby-league-immortal-andrew-johns-20160326-gnrlv4.html#ixzz440gzKtBbFollow us: @smh on Twitter | sydneymorningherald on Facebook

  • The other point in the article

Hayne training with Johns (a Roosters halves coach), Mitchell Pearce (a Roosters player) and Hayden Knowles (a Roosters trainer)

How long until someone runs with a Hayne to the Roosters story

  • On Seward, yes perhaps he has played a major role in the salary cap issues

but answer me this who hired him in the first place, Steve Sharp and his board. Sure they eventually got rid of him but possibly not early enough to prevent a loss of points or at very least significant additional fine or reduction in future salary caps

    • Good point Dave. The Board must take the blame for hiring the wrong guy. Geez there was some dud CEO s, from Ozbourne, Bentley, Edwards, Seward. Wow the pressure is on Bolous. But then again he doesn't need to do much to show an improvement on those previous 4 guys.
    • It shows what happens in rugby league, you get someone with the knowledge of the game and experience in winning premierships as a chairman, they have a better understanding on hiring a quality coach who has what it takes to take the team forward.
The flipside is the business side of the club is going to be new to them and hiring a CEO, would be a challenge. There is currently alot of blunt comments about Sharp's business decisions at the moment, but don't forget what it feels like to follow a losing football side.
Why people want Sharp gone and are in a huge rush to see it happen remains a mystery to me. The destabilizing of the club is identical to the media campaign that ousted Fitzgerald and Anderson, the same journos and the same tactics. It leads me to believe its the same powerbrokers behind it, the same who were exposed to be corrupt and practice illegal activities by the current board, one hell of a motive.
I think Fitzgerald would like to come back or at least have a puppet to push forward but i think he is to smart to be involved in what's going on at the moment, he will let others do the damage and wait. The first person to run against Sharp will be looked at 'very' closely by the members and fan base, Eels fans are not falling for the BS articles this time round and there is alot of anger towards the constant attacks on the club.
  • Sepp Blatter would be better than those 4

  • Knowles use to be at Parra in Hayne's days. No surprise they know each other.
    • I know that

I also know that Knowles has helped him as a personal trainer at other times during his move to the NFL

I'm also sure that Johns & Pearce were coincidentally in the same park as Hayne & Knowles but then again Hayne & Trent Robinson just happened to be in the same location and the media turned that into a Hayne is going to quit the NFL and play at the Roosters this year story.

just imagine what they will do with this

  • I hope the media do make a big deal over Hayne. It will just hurt the roosters administration and fans harder when it doesn't happen. Hopefully the roosters will  keep a huge chunk of their cap unspent and hold off buying new players while getting 2 wooden spoons waiting for Hayne to come over lol.

    • The club won't be fooled by the media

Nick Politis won't be sitting there saying "Well the media is saying Hayne will come to the Roosters so we better keep cap space available"

      • The question is does Nick Politis believe that Hayne will go to the roosters, media hype or not?
