Apparently the case today has been delayed due to Parramatta and Melbourne engaging in deep talks to get a deal done. Negotiations had ran overnight. What is hilarious is people on social media believe Parramatta know they will lose so are making a deal. Ummmm no this is the NRL not wanting to be involved and not wanting their stuff leaked so the heavies are on Melbourne to get something done.
The rumour at the moment is it could be a three way trade. Jesse Ramien's name has been floating around as Cronulla want cap space in order to front load contracts for next year. One rumour suggested Melbourne would get both Lomax and Ramien, therefore Melbourne would be more open to releasing a player if they get two. Now could that be for example Howarth since Ramien will be one Centre? Maybe but it seems a deal could be struck at the 11th hour.
A separate report also suggests the call from Parra for Lomax not to play Round 1 could still be on table.

My thoughts now, we have the talent, I want the Eels to push this court case now an not accept the simple player exchange that has been suggested. Lets screw Melbourne into the ground. To accept an offer now would be a victory for Melbourne. Lets kill em
No that's false. They wanted to come out of this not losing players. There is a chance they will. They get Lomax but they lost their goal overall and we won getting what we asked for.
You say no deal screw them, but we are stronger trading him for a quality player as opposed to forcing him to sit out.
Who floats your boat LB? I'm not talking about anyone that just gets a deal over the line. I mean someone that you think there's no way we're getting him. Where we walk away feeling like we've come out on top. Remember, Lomax is pretty well credentialed.
I've said previously id take Munster off their hands from 27 for 2 years. Other than that I think we should stick with who we've got and look elsewhere.
Right now Lomax is only a piece of paper to the Eels. Like say a $100 note. It's not helping us until we exchange it for something tangible and of value. A decent player swap benefits our squad. Being intransigent may make us feel powerful but it doesn't add any benefit to our squad. We need to get a deal done somewhere. If not with Melbourne then elsewhere but it needs to happen.
Exactly, why let him sit on the sideline or in Union, we get nothing out of it. At least get something in return. Not just anything but something pretty good.
Ok same question to you as LB, who should we get and when?
I disagree. It has to be a player that seriously adds value to our team or has serious potential to our team. I can assure Lomax is going to add a lot of value to Melbourne. Lomax sitting on the sidelines costs us diddly squat. Lomax ( A SOO and Australian player) playing for Melbourne (last years grand finalists) is a huge win for Melbourne. Anything less than Munster, Coates, or Stefano is still a win for Melbourne. Sorry Howarth is an ok player but is not in Lomax's league.
I would be really happy with Howarth, i think that is on the line of a deal where it is both fair value and nearly realistic of getting done. Still a long shot but i could see Howarth. Coates is a fantasy for example.
Blore and Warbrick i wouldn't. For Parra to be happy i feel it has to be someone like Howarth.
That is if a player swap happens. I wonder too if Cronulla are involved with Ramien.
Can't we get a player from Cronulla in all this?
Well Cronulla want to free up cap space to keep 1-2 players for next year, using Ramien's money to front load deals. Why should Cronulla lose 2 players for nothing other than cap space? I doubt they go that far. Ramien is enough as they have two great Centres coming through.
Melbourne will get 2 players, they should feel a little better releasing one. That is why i feel Howarth makes sense.
1. Fa'alogo
2. Coates
3. Meaney
4. Ramien
5. Lomax
Then next year Lomax goes to Centre for Meaney.
