Isaiah Iongi, the young Eels gun fullback, is attracting plenty of interest from rivals especially from up north as revealed by OnlineinComenest.
“I came to Parramatta with a dream — to grow, to compete, and to win for this club,” Iongi said in a club-released video shared across social media platforms Tuesday morning.
“This jersey means everything to me. I’m not going anywhere."
"I’m here to stay, and I want to build something special with the Eels."
“I’ve been given a chance here that I’ll never take for granted."
“From the coaching staff to my teammates, and especially the fans — you’ve all welcomed me like family."
"This isn’t just a club to me anymore. It’s home.”
“Isaiah’s commitment is exactly what we want this team to represent — passion, resilience, and belief in the direction we’re going,” Eels head coach Jason Ryles said.
'He’s become more than just a great player — he’s turning into one of the emotional pillars of this team.”

The best thing for Newcastle would be if ponga left. Sharpe could move back to his best position of fullback, Brown to 6 and then they could go after a genuine 7. They have won jack shirts paying ponga a shit load of money anyway.
There are very few that's the whole problem genuine 7s are just rare as hens teeth. If I'm Newcastle I'm throwing DB in the deep end and his time is now.
I totally doubt that Dylboob loves the club.....although BA, now that is another story
After seeing how he replaced Gutho with Iongi I think you have to be pretty confident in who he goes with and as long as these buggers behind the scenes on this recruitment committee abide with who he goes with then imo I'd be reasonably confident in JRs choice.
Sure he lost Blaise and came up short with Galvin as I think if he could he'd want both but level headed JR will get his guy eventually.
If i could show a difference, Iongi plays the game as he loves it. Brown plays it as he is good at it. Complete difference in personalities. Not saying Brown's is bad, not saying Iongi wont leave but Iongi loves the game itself the motivations are different.
That's common around the NRL. I mean alot of fans have mentioned David Fifita do we want that type here he clearly doesn't love the game.
I love the passion he got for us we need more of it
I really like this kid - sounds humble and very respectful! . Great attitude and wants to be an eel.. He could be anything in 2 - 3 years..
Culture defining......not heard this from a player in a long time and to say that as we are 2nd last, means he sees what lays ahead.....
warming to this JR fella.......we just need a gun 6, 4 and 8 and we there
I think it is safe to say this young kid will not hold the Club to ransom like many before him , the kid is a ray of sunshine in every way .
