Isaiah Iongi, the young Eels gun fullback, is attracting plenty of interest from rivals especially from up north as revealed by OnlineinComenest.

“I came to Parramatta with a dream — to grow, to compete, and to win for this club,” Iongi said in a club-released video shared across social media platforms Tuesday morning.

“This jersey means everything to me. I’m not going anywhere."

"I’m here to stay, and I want to build something special with the Eels."

“I’ve been given a chance here that I’ll never take for granted."

“From the coaching staff to my teammates, and especially the fans — you’ve all welcomed me like family."

"This isn’t just a club to me anymore. It’s home.”

“Isaiah’s commitment is exactly what we want this team to represent — passion, resilience, and belief in the direction we’re going,” Eels head coach Jason Ryles said.

'He’s become more than just a great player — he’s turning into one of the emotional pillars of this team.”

  • Was more than a bit worried and perturbed about losing Guts...but Isiah has clearly been a great signing and can't get over how quickly he is developing and growing on not just mine but all of our hearts. His classy words here mean a lot 💙💛

    • That's what happens when you aren't thrown in to quickly come from a good developed pathway system and do your time in Cup.The recipe isn't hard the key is doing the mentioned and holding onto them.Hopgood was similar he came into FG ready made to make an impact and he did. He's gone off the boil now but there's a footballer whose form has just dropped off but I'd stick with him he'll come good.

  • Ha remember the so called soul and heart of the team , he never spoke like that and he was made captain . Seems we won on the fullback front

  • Exactly what I have said many times you need players who want to play for the club to win a comp the all about me players we have had for a long time up till this year are not invested enough  to win a comp we are getting on the right track this guy will be a star and wants to replay the club for giving him a chance great to see

  • Nice to hear that from the youngster.

  • Another 16 like this young fella and Bailey, we'll be untouchable

  • I think he was a great pick up and still has plenty of development in him.

But don't forget Dylan Brown said the same thing as a young fella and again last contract negotiation when he had his get out clauses.

Players can love a club and be loyal,   Until they get a better offer.

    • He didn't just get a bigger offer He got the biggest offer an ridiculous  one and it still weighed on his mind to turn it down. He really did not want to go but would have been crazy to turn down the money not exactly the best example

      • Finn Callaghan, a highly rated young midfielder and former pick number 3 in the AFL draft turned down a 10 year $17m deal from St Kilda (which would have made the highest ever paid player in the league) to stay loyal to the Giants on a 4 year $4m deal.

Loyalty can still be a thing - that said, I don't blame Dylan for accepting Newcastle's silly offer. I don't think he's going to be happy at the Knights though because I don't think he can succeed without an organiser playing alongside him.

      • Well said.

DB also turned down a much bigger offer to go home to NZ, and a much bigger offer to go to the Phins, than what he signed on for at the Eels.

So he stayed at the Eels for a lot less twice, and, it took a crazy offer for him to go - which he doesn't look overly comfortable with.
