So I did give Alfred Mateo's blog a bump but I think to prevent us from getting confused and for it to be an easier way to organise it, this blog will be for any ideas for the remembrance of Jon Mannah. So far I have a couple of ideas and I will add any more to the blog that people suggest.
1. We organise to get a collection of blue and yellow letters and spell out in the Swarm: REST IN PEACE JON MANNAH.
2. Organise to get as many fans to either wear black or yellow (Colour of the Call to Arms campaign) armbands in Round 1.
3. Approach the family and club about donating a percentage of memberships to charity.
4. Release 23 yellow balloons (Jon's age) and 24 blue balloons (number of games played) at first match of the season.
5. 1 minute of applause instead of 1 minute silence.
I'll also be in contact with Tim and the club to try and get the details to donate money to Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

a collection sounds good idea
a percentage of all memberships?
Good idea, I'll pass it on to Ken.
I never said it's about us. This is about what we can do to support the Mannah family. Whilst it is good to support Crow's cause, not all the money will be going to Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Hodgkin's Lymphoma is one of the most deadly forms of cancer. It affects the liver, spleen and bone marrow. Even if people survive it they have a strong chance of contracting Leukemia and have other complications surrounding their vital organs.
I'll just let you know that I haven't asked Tim for any information on donating or anything at all related to his brother. I'll be leaving it for a few days. I'm not saying everyone needs to start coming up with ideas now. I just want to start getting some ideas over the coming weeks because we may need time to organise things.
One thing death does is it makes us all realise how precious life is and how we all take it for granted sometimes. Life is a hard gig, it is not fair, it takes the young and willing, it leaves lots of questions and not many answers .
I really feel for Tim and his family. It is in hard times like this that Australians pull together and unite. As a club, we will do the same for the Mannah family. It is heartening to see all the messages of support on this site. That wave of emotion will be evident in round 1. Nice touch Super eel. My little whinges about things doesnt seem relevant today. God bless Kiddo
This is just an idea gathering blog. I had every intention of presenting a selection of these to the club and working with them and the family to determine which ones they would like us to do.
The ideas are coming from the right place but leave it a bit longer than a few days to contact the family about this.Maybe in a few months would be better so they can absorb the loss a little bit and be strong enough to cope.
SE22 - I made a suggestion in Crow's "Ride for Cancer" blog that we see if we can get Crow down to that first match and maybe ride a bike around the arena during half time.
Have the club doing some sort of promotion to support Crow and Cancer Research.
In this day and age EVERY bloody THING boils down to money - so, can we see if the club will support Crow's ride - supply him with a Jon Mannah jersey to wear in his ride and be part of the fans support for the Mannah family and Cancer research.
Time for this club to step up in support.
If they fail to step up can we still organise for Crow to be there and have it publicised about his efforts and how to donate.
This is NOT all about Crow - but what we as individuals and fans can do.
Nice idea super, i respect your care and action regarding john, but id leave it a bit longer than a few days in regards to contacting Tim or the family..
Im not sure whether you have had any serious grief in your life regarding losing brothers, sisters or parents at a young age, i have, and you need to let the family and Tim share the shock and the grief as a family and very close friends.
Its way to early to be floating ideas to them, there will be too much in their heads and hearts at the moment..
In a few weeks i think your ideas and support will be appreciated, but not now mate.
I realise you have met Tim and John but atm its time to let the family and close friends deal with this and try and come to terms with how they are feeling and their terrible loss, they will have the wind knocked out of themselves big time and they will be emotionally spent.
But your a great fan super, your very caring and proactive and the clubs lucky to have fans like you.
cheers mate.
