Dylan Brown debuted for us at 18, Blaize was in a sg ball grand final then debuted the year along with Ethan Sanders, along with Matthew Arthur although he was still quite raw and for the raiders Ethan Strange debuted the next year after playing U19 state of origin then taking over from Jack Wighton. Lorenzo just went up to Jersey Flegg and killed it in his first game and could be in NSW cup by the end of the year.

We don't have to throw him in right away maybe a few months into the next year if he is receiving the proper development but I just don't think Sandon Smith will be the right choice for us and we can probably use the money elsewhere, it could also make our Juniors coming through like Lorenzo to maybe look elsewhere as they are around over a year for their Nrl Debut.

If we were to sign someone I'd be after Tyran Wishart and if we do maybe try and get him over a year early by transfer fee or player swap as he is on the same money as Galvin at the tigers. If Tyran Wishart does come over we can still put Lorenzo at 6 when he is ready and Tyran can play 9 or else with his versatility.

I feel like missing out on resigning Dylan Brown, then missing out on Lachlan Galvin, now we are after Sandon Smith shows that we are rushing the five eight signing instead of actually seeing the best half to match with Moses. Maybe we should wait till the off season and choose the best option for us long term even if we get them in 2027. I dont know what do you think?

  • I do like bringing our juniors up rather than signing talent, (missionaries are better than mercenaries) they're much more loyal and owe the coach for their break, so if Lorenzo is ready, I say go for it. Give him a pre season to prepare though.

    • Loyal thats a dirty word no one loyal no more just look at Blaize and Gavin show them the money they go

      • It really depends on the coach. If you look at the better coaches around they have 'their guys', and I just feel like Ryles is creating his team around him and they will be a tighter knit group the longer they play together. Blaize was under Artthur and Moses did not want him developed under BA, and he had no idea how Ryles was going to start his career as coach, so the uncertainty was valid in my opinion, I just don't think anyone expected Panthers to have the year they had.

  • Lorenzo all the way. These kids will be unstoppable over the next few years!

  • Lorenzo for sure.

Wishart is reliable but we already have a reliable back up. If Mitch kills it at 5/8 in Origin, then at a pinch, we can run with him there and use Hawkins until Lorenzo is ready, or if he doesn't come up, we find another 7.

    • Sorry Badger, i do not see Ryles saying to Moses "Hey, how about we put you at 6 and let Hawkins be main playmaker at 7?" Could just put Hawkins at 6 if Moses will stay chief playmaker.

      • Are you saying Mitch couldn't be the main playmaker at 6?

        • Well he can but if that's the case why change jersey numbers? Just have Hawkins at 6.

          • Fair enough. They're only numbers.

        • lockyer was so why not  try Mitch at  6 and Hawkins at 7

"I'm just saying , he was not brilliant .  A few nice things early which helped set the tone for us , then faded away .
6/10 for Moses .  Lomax should've been man of match 9/10 he was carting it up and giving the forwards a free lesson . "
