Dylan Brown debuted for us at 18, Blaize was in a sg ball grand final then debuted the year along with Ethan Sanders, along with Matthew Arthur although he was still quite raw and for the raiders Ethan Strange debuted the next year after playing U19 state of origin then taking over from Jack Wighton. Lorenzo just went up to Jersey Flegg and killed it in his first game and could be in NSW cup by the end of the year.
We don't have to throw him in right away maybe a few months into the next year if he is receiving the proper development but I just don't think Sandon Smith will be the right choice for us and we can probably use the money elsewhere, it could also make our Juniors coming through like Lorenzo to maybe look elsewhere as they are around over a year for their Nrl Debut.
If we were to sign someone I'd be after Tyran Wishart and if we do maybe try and get him over a year early by transfer fee or player swap as he is on the same money as Galvin at the tigers. If Tyran Wishart does come over we can still put Lorenzo at 6 when he is ready and Tyran can play 9 or else with his versatility.
I feel like missing out on resigning Dylan Brown, then missing out on Lachlan Galvin, now we are after Sandon Smith shows that we are rushing the five eight signing instead of actually seeing the best half to match with Moses. Maybe we should wait till the off season and choose the best option for us long term even if we get them in 2027. I dont know what do you think?

Is that what our fans do see a player play an ok game against flogging a dead horse and believe that's our newest saviour, Hawkins is crap..
Hawkins is a depth player. Sorry that every player needs to be good. You probably considered Andrew Johns to be average at best.
I don't get why Merkin even gets an opinion, he lies, makes judgements he is not qualified to make and sits there and insults a young player doing his best as "Crap" you are full of it Merkin!
Again why move Moses from 7 to 6 if he will still be chief playmaker? But why have Hawkins in the team unless he is main playmaker and Moses runs it a bit more?
One point the author said is Wishart is on similar money to Galvin. Galvin is on 750k, Wishart would be on about 450 tops at my estimate......Wishart is handy but we have the 14 spot well covered. In saying that further Wishart comes in/on to a well oiled machine.....bit different if he becomes a marquis player, which he would need to be to get paid that much. He is not Marquis!
My further guess is Walker would be on similar money and offers more than Wishart.
Also keep in mind that some utility players are going to be released by the dogs, Stacey comes to mind, but I cannot see how he fits for us.
I actually don't think we will look externally for a 5/8. We have a good set of halves in the lower grades, something we haven't had for a while. I like the idea of Volkman / Hawkins warming the seat for Lorenzo / Twidle / Lynn, and I think that's what Ryles may have in mind. If that's the case, these players need to start preparing now.
They all suck in terms of first grade. Twiddle dumb done nuttin in the trials shut your mouth nuttin.
Merkins you have no right to tell someone to shut their mouth with your dismal record! Don't get it do you!
I would try and get WIshart to the club regardless, he can play numerous positions.
Oh i think they will try. Melbourne, to their credit, are pretty good in letting certain players go for opportunities. Fa'alogo and Pezet have clauses if certain players re-sign. With Munster, Hughes and Grant, Wishart ain't being a full-time starter.
Wishart makes sense, i would love to have him. Just don't think Melbourne let him go nor Wishart chooses to go just yet, if he does it is to a top tier team. I mean we could offer him decent coin to be fair.
