  • You'd have to have a huge TPA in place and I think he gets 1.5 minimum and resets the market.

I don't think we can compete with what no doubt will be offered.

We can't even offer captaincy either.

Give us about a 10% shot even with Junior coming off.

    • I am with Graham. Sell the vision and give him 6M over 5 years. Just hope it works out but yea minimal chance

In my opinion Tino is 1 of the top 3 middles in the game, and his upcoming salary will show that. I also believe the best way to balance your salary cap is by allocating the amount you want to spend in each area.  Using this method you couldn't have someone like Tino on the big dollars whilst you have Junior also on big dollars. Having close to $2,000,000 of cap space between 2 middles won't work. Ideally,  if the Eels could jag someone like Tino, they would need to find some bargain middles that can play above their pay rate.

  • Biggest enticement in recruitment has to be the coach selling his plan for the player and vision for how he intends to get there.

    • Everone has a plan...even pubic lice have a plan.

It is not a selling point, hence why no-one of note is buying....We offer money, that's all

      • Randy

I'm a preschool teacher - headlice have no plan they just jump around like idiots

can't speak for the pubic region but I feel they may be similar 🤔🤣🤣🤣

    • I agree !!!!

The marked improvement , if it continues, will be a huge selling point for " the next club to have a successful run "

      hopefully

  • Playing for the bears means you spend every second week flying for nearly 5hrs at least.
Waiting time in airports either side of that , wouldn't be my cup of tea.

Your family has to move away from their support network , if you've got kids it makes it even harder.

The Bears and PNG are a hard sell on these factors alone.

Throwing big dollars around doesn't mean much if the players wife or girlfriend doesn't want to live there.
