I personally was surprised that the Cowboys were given the ball after the their trainer interfered with play. I thought the Eels should have been given a penalty and the video ref should have examined if Ado Car could have scored as he's super fast and was definitely in a position to do so. Trainers shouldn't be allowed on the field during play or at least should remain out of the play area

Should have been penalty to us or a goal line drop out. Absolute bs decision by ref to awards the losers the ball.
They spend to much time on the field, crowds are sick of them.
👍 agree
Its what the rules says its a mutual infringement they were in possession regardless of what might of happened so they get possession.
Its happened before Roosters v Raiders GF is an example.
It rarely happens but it does from time to time.
I have no issue with the call.
I don't have issues with trainers on the field for extend periods.
Ive done my league safe and some coaching badges my understanding in the NRL, orange trainers treat injuries anytime, blue trainers give messages or water only in possession/after a try (max 3 times a half), and yellow trainers assist with injuries or water in special cases — all must leave quickly and not interfere with play.
They all flaunt the rules to much
What on earth is so hard about fixing this issue???
Trainer on field ONLY if a player is injured and maybe when there is a stoppage after a try. Other than that... off the field.
Surely 'I'm so awesome' Pete and his dipshit mate Abdo could just rule on this and have it effective this coming round?
So many cameras... so many eyes on the game, bunker, ref, sidelines... yet they all say and do nothing about so many simple issues in the game. Pete needs to check his ego for 5 mins, forget about crap like Vegas and the great waste of time that is PNG and actually address all the week in week out issues and inconsistencies.
Agree 👍 PNG is ridiculous and well Perth Bears 🐻 🤣 With Meninga as head coach 🤣 😂
That's the rule, sinple as that.
Ref was correct working within the rules.
Nothing to see here
The ref was off with the fairies the whole match...its incredicble they actually got the Mitch obstruction correct...but I think that this was more self preservation then signing off on the correct ruling.
I reckon he would have got to the ball first and scored. The trainer stopped the ball from going into the in-goal. Can't believe they ruled play-on.
