Cohen Hess suspended for the remainder of the season  !

Sin bin at worst-case.

I was very surprised Joash stood up without any visible injury.  It was the worst leg charge all season.   The way his leg buckled in, it was disgraceful and disgusting and just because a player doesn't fake injury,  it doesn't mean there should be no sin bin.  The sentence proves he should have been sent

Could have easily ended up like Dunster with a career ending injury .  That was a coward tackle.

  • Another piece of evidence of a very poor game by the referee last night. I was astounded he stayed on the field for that.

    • The bunker has zero idea.

      • Firstly it was Adam Gee Up on Saturday night then came along Liam Comedy yesterday.

That last part to the game with Trainer Gate, TDS being taken high twice in the one tackle and then Moses being obstructed showed the inept constitution that is our referee association.
Add the first half calls in and this guy should be sitting out for the rest of the season so they can trial any upcoming refs, if there is any.
How Hess did not get 10 in the bin where Sam Walker did against the Dragons for something minor who escaped charge is beyond me.

Regardless of his opinion on the last howler, the ref knew it was an obstruction and should have called it a no try. Saying he milked it was completely unprofessional with the outcome of the game on the line and should have just gone through the motions with it.

          • Correct , when he tells the captain it's going up for a strip and then sends it up as something totally different, then it should be classed as non conclusive .  Moses may have not used his challenge had he have known it was going up as a ruck infringement. Obviously Moses saw that is wasn't stripped but may not have had vision of the ruck infringement to make his judgement.

The referee obviously had the luxury of the flunker advising him in his ear what to send it up as.

          • Yes that's right. I was scratching my head at that one too.

        • HH, 100% agree with your point in regarding the obstruction.

By awarding a try because his opinion was that Moses milked it is not a satisfactory reason. That then meant that the bunker had to prove with conviction that it wasn't a try otherwise they would have to have adopted his call of a try if the evidence wasn't conclusive to overrule.

The disappointing fact is that no action will be taken against Kennedy because we go the result and everyone will move on.

      • Guess who was in the bunker?

  • I don't know how you see Hess launching himself with full bodyweight at a player's legs and then going "just on report".

    • Exactly! Was holding breath that Papalii was ok after that ugly tackle. Actually Joash copped a number of suss hits yesty.

shocking ref and bunker yesty again.
