Very corporate move by the brass above. They really are obsessed with making the sure the club's coffers are stacked and healthy and no repeating of the mess of circa 2016.
Would've really preferred something more genuine. Ahhh well.....

This sponsorship and partnership makes me so uncomfortable.
James Hardie knowingly sent hundreds and hundreds of workers to their debilitating death solely because they wanted profits. They killed people with full knowledge and understanding that exposure to their products were deadly. They then spent decades dodging those victims and their families so they didn't have to pay them anything.
Someone in my extended family passed away of mesothelioma some years ago now, it wasn't a pretty end for him as he withered for years. Caused by working in close contact with asbestos. This company has an evil history and when they make statements like this it sickens me:
"James Hardie has proudly provided Australian-made building products to the market for over 100 years"
It's bad enough we have their name plastered on the jersey. Giving them naming rights is such a disappointment. I'm really ashamed of this relationship the Eels have.
Unfortunately Cap, its all about the dollars. They'll sell it as 'oh we know know we did bad, so lets show out support now'.
Wonder how much they've paid for this.
James Hardie, giving it to the community for over 100 years.
The Australian government is doing the same with indoor smoking, which is still prevalent throughout clubs and pubs which it's workers are subjected to.
There's no doubt Hardies have a lot to answer for and there's no excusing the actions of the then top management, but the decision makers then will have to live with themselves, as do the Australian governments
James Hardie don't have a great reputation with regards to there cladding products over the ditch either, certain products were linked to a generation of leaky buildings and having experience around developments and builders who swore they'll never touch there products again for me there name doesn't mean a lot for this fan.
But I guess the club think different.
All the money is the same colour to them.
I can only suggest that one recognises the past and embraces a better future. We must learn from past mistakes to be better. So many companies have terrible terrible histories but now serve the communities as outstanding citizens and leaders in doing things better.
I choose to embrace that James Hardie is now one of those companies, but still remember and hold them account for past mis deeds.
If there is ever a sport that gives wronged / underprivileged or people that have done wrong a second chance to develop and change its Rugby League. James Hardie probably fits some of this bill to a tee.
