  • Kalyn Ponga says hi

  • This is insane !!! Ludicrous !!!

Does not pass the pub test in any way shape or form

This man should not be reffing and as someone said on FB nsw police should be having a very close look at his contacts , bank accounts etc etc

I would go as far to say that all clubs demand he is stood down pending further investigation - and all iffy games looked at

    what a fucking crock

we knew he was dodgy as all hell and now we know why

    he has a sickness !!!!

    • All referees should be held accountable not just for this blokes gambling problems but the adjudication of matches. Should be regular police checks like other professionals undergo every so many years.

  • Instant dismissal... cannot be any other outcome.

Anything short and the NRL / PVL are absolutely complicit and may as well condone it.

Like letting a pedo work in a kindy but justifying by saying well, he doesn't really have a thing for kids from this suburb.

I'm in charge of outcomes on a sporting field, which can be wagered on, and I have a massive gambling problem to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars... that shit just does not mix. Klein should go... and if PVL doesn't pull the trigger, he should go. There is actually fair argument to say if they have kept it quiet and said / done nothing for 4 years then PVL should go regardless.

  • What kills me with stories like this is stupid comments like the person concerned has had their betting account reviewed and nothing found in relation to NRL. Friggin' der... as if he's that dumb... family, friends, whatever... it's not going via his own account!

    • They can trace a lot these days. They can trace who he sends money too and track their accounts also.

  • Wow, that is huge!. Being in charge of a game that he can heavily influence and has massive betting stakes attached, surely just the thought of placing a bet would of entered his head at times. Whether he gambled on Rugby League or not, he should not be in charge of games. Hope he gets the help he needs, as gambling can be a massive curse when it gets out of control.

Gobsmacked that the NRL new and allowed him to continue in his role. There must be some real oversight, access to bank accounts etc for the NRL to allow him to continue. Wonder who the whistle blower was.

  • Ive always saud if i was to match fix i wouldn't target players id target referees

League and union are 2 sports where the ref has a bigger influence on the outcome then the players.

Added now with 6 agains you can fix it to control the momentum

  • more importantly what was he betting on  ? Pokies?  Or sports betting?

    • Apparently horses and dogs but who's to say he isn't taking money or having his debts payed by fixing nrl games.

"It's disgraceful that this bloke has been allowed to continue to officiate games, even if he isn't betting on nrl games every bad decision he makes is going to be suspicious.
The games integrity will be muddied if he is allowed to continue."

"LB, I could argue that it is a 100k career advantage to play for penrith, i.e. lets asume they offered 350 to Milky and Parra offered 450.....you would stay everyday of the week and that's a simple equation and not insulting Parra, just the reality…"
