Both great moves for the club i think.. Everyone seems so happy, it's good to see
As a Bulldogs fan I can see similarities between what Parramatta has achieved off the field and what the Bulldogs now have in place. Under Malcolm Noad the Bulldogs moved away from tradition and became more of a business. Fitzgerald appeared to be the same.
Teams should never forget their traditions or their past. You have to know where you have come from to be able to see where you are going. You should never stop embracing your legends of the past as they are the people who built the reputation and tradition of the club. Players like Sterling, Kenny and Price etc were not welcomed at the Eels because they didn't like Fitzgerald. The Dogs had the same issues with our legends and the Noad administration.
Both clubs are now back on track to have future successful seasons and both clubs appear to have the right people in charge.
Anderson has brought to the Eels what has been lacking for a long time. Discipline and commitment. He got rid of Finch as he saw him as a bad influence on what he wanted to achieve. Then he put all the Eels players on notice. Once they realised there were no free rides they started to lift their game. On the back of Jarrad Hayne's sublime form every one else started to put in and things started to come together. Every player is having a dig and they want to play for each other and the jersey. That is what builds a winning culture at a club. But they have to do it year after year.
It might sound bad saying this but Keating and Mateo getting injured was the best thing for the Eels. It forced you to give Mortimer and Robson a go as a halves combination and they stepped up. Even Inu has stepped up to the plate. With the return of Mateo it gave you strike power from the bench and that is what you need to win big games.
The recruitment of Anderson has been the biggest plus for you club. He is a smart coach who allows his players to play footy and not just the structured high percentage stuff. The discipline he has brought to your club has been the key as well.
