THE BOARD BETTER BE RIGHT!!!

If and when they sack Anderson the board members are betting with place place on our board so they better be right! I think Anderson is a good coach but it is obvious that there is something wrong with the way he runs things because the board realise that they are betting everything by sacking him just 2 years in. It does seem the club is in a bit of a rabble, football wise, with our 1st grade and lower grade sides playing way below their potential and that has to be the coaches fault more than anyone elses. Our junior teams are usually gun sides but they are in a heap at the moment. When Brian Smith first came in he changed everything from our youngest junior sides up and that doesnt seem to happen now.  I just read that the board member from pirtek said when he first came in he was shocked that there was no short term or long term plan for any of our sides and that is of great concern as nearly all good coaches have their plans layed out for the future. Whoever the next coach is must have a plan of attack and have shown the board this already because the board would not have done what they about to do without being shown some sort of plan for the future because if they sign a new coach who has no plan and sack Anderson then their positions on the board are as good as gone.

  • Every club is undoubtedly expected to go through certain events of turmoil throughout their lifespan.

As irritated and frustrated we as the fans might be about what will happen, what may happen, and what is perceived to have happened, we have to take it on the chin and continue supporting our great club.

I'll admit that I'm not exactly the happiest chap alive right now given the whole situation with the club and the board, but the team as a whole comes first, and nothing should detract from that.

Things will change, and their are a tonne of positives out there.

In regards to your point about the junior side, the Eels NYC side recently had a lot of players hit the age of 20 thus meaning they are no longer eligible to play. Some have moved to the NSW Cup, others have moved on, and some others, well I don't even know where they went.
A lot of our NYC team are 16 or 17 years of age and played their first year of Toyota Cup footy this year.
They too will only get better as they'll be better for the experience.
