Thank you GUSSY! The Galvin effect.

How bad is he, I thought he was playing good in a bad team but I'm starting to think the tigers are just that bad he looked ok, The Galvin effect is in full swing you can tell the players and coach are sick of answering questions they don't look happy as a team anymore they look like a team that are left in the dark about who is playing where each week I've always thought he is going to regret this decision he will start hating his footy again they are playing worse with him coming on looking like a deer in headlights hopefully gus has finally seen him.

    • Didn't work on the weekend, big dramas at the dogs they just looke unhappy and like they've all been used and abused and spat out.

  • I find it funny that at no point does anyone acknowledge the good work on our part of electing to not increase our offer for Galvin.

It seems to be all attributed to luck (we dodged a bullet), or we were out manouvered by the almighty Gus at the negotiating table or Galvin made a mistake or was poorly advised.

I'll say it, well done to the team for not going in over our heads to sign him. Sexton gone, Mahoney gone be interesting to see the further fallout from here and how they track for the remainder of this season and beyond.

    • Kudos certainly for the Da Silva signing but I doubt that the Eels were ever a potential destination for Galvin. IMHO it looks like the Galvin to Dogs deal was organised many many months ago and had to be played out the way it was to protect all involved from breach of contract issues and we were used as a "Beard".  Sexton and Mahoney were told to look elesewhere months ago.

      • Just like the Wayne Bennett deal to south's. If your going for big fish you've got to put the bait out there lure them in.

I suspect that's exactly what the Dogs did for Galvin and South's did for Bennett.

      • Even if all that is true it is a good outcome that we didn't overextend ourselves. It's just as important to opt out on signing players who aren't a good fit for us.

      • So did IM use MM as part of the plan. Heard MM tried to convince LG to come to the Eels.

        • Thank god he failed! Adam dhouchebags would be better.

    • Sexton and Mahoney have been good for them...Be interesting to see how Galvin and Haywood go next year.  If they falter this year in their run ....it may filter into 2026 and with they way they have binned players off will be added pressure.....anyway not too fussed we got our own shit to deal with like making the semis next year with all the media attention next year ....40 years etc

    • But we did increase our offer and still missed out at the last minute Adam.

So looks like it's actually a case of good luck rather than good management that he's wearing the blue and white and not the blue and gold.

      • Final offer for clarification. Isaac Moses reached out twice which we declined, but you can view the situation however you like.
