The ABC have a short series called the Piano with the final next Sunday. ( ABC iView is well worth watching) I love Classical music however this show is very special if you want to see ordinary people dedicate their lives to fulfil a special interest with a desire to develop a talent to very great heights. What does it have to do with football?
It is about life stories of people wanting to achieve something very personal with their lives . Seeking out a talent and making the most of it .
Being a participant in living a life well into their senior years rather than being a observer of other people's achievements in life. That mindset to develop one's talents to ones best ability should be inspiring to people in whatever activity takes their fancy including football. Irrespective of one's ability.Being the best at what you can do and ignore the criticisms from others who perhaps want to be spectators in life..
Some of the people's life stories in their journeys with music are amazing and will bring a tear to your eye. Loving yourself and those around you should be the top priority in living a satisfying life..

Hey Tad, I haven't seen this show yet, but my wife gushes over it.
Declares it her favourite and offers to sweeten the deal if I'll come watch with her.
Now that you declare it special I'll surprise her by tuning in to see what the fuss is.

I'll view that tomorrow Tad, wifey decided we'd watch an episode from 3weeks ago which introduced BJ a one handed pianist, a barbers son and a 5year old girl who had been playing the piano since a 2year old. Shown at Central.
All had their stories and playing the piano soothed their emotional state.
The judges Andrea Lam and Harry Connick Jnr were magnificient by showing their compassion. And Amanda Keller wasn't too shabby either.

Yes Richard music is a powerful medication to calm ones state of mind. Lots of people who don't fit into some school situations or other social settings find a special comfort zone in music space. Lots of people who have suffered trauma of have mental or physical disabilities excei when surrounded in music. There was a 16 year old (autistic? )kid who had started learning 3 and a half years ago was playing a very complicated composition which would give him applause in a major concept hall. Mozart is a perfect example. Past life transition? Reincarnation?. Lots of the Arts from yesteryears have been lost with the industrial revolution in my view . Poetry, literature ,theatre, craftsmanship, woodwork carvings, art etc. We seem to have become more passive with our own creative development.and are becomin more reliant on AI generated arts and entertainment. Sad for humanity iny view.
Had my secod look of the Piano today Tad. Their love of the keyboard was there for all to see. Malik, 16 and autistic, was self taught and has been playing for only 4years and the level he's reached is miraculous.
His performance stood out to me. But skill isn't the only consideration for the judges, the story of their challenges is also weighed.

Hi Richard wonderful post for me. "Music to my ears" I watched a couple today. Some of the life stories really got to me. Some of the older people, common themes . " I couldn't live without my piano" When you get into your eighties and your partner is not with you your life can be quite bleak and you need to be surrounded with a purpose in life.
Amazing what some of the little ones are doing as well with shaping there lives around be actively involved with purpose as well. Thanks for sharing your interest.
