- After the first minute of the game I immediately knew that no matter how good we try to play that we would not win the game. The corruption was pretty clear. But wow we played awful.
- The sin bin was obviously a horrible decison by the ref
- The captain challenge was another horrible decison by the ref
- The number of 6 agains on 4th and 5th tackle just because Grant asked the ref for it was BS.
- Iongi getting a high tackle and than a crusher but not getting a penalty for it. Than being sent for the HIA was BS too.
- We lost control of the ruck because we would get pinged for a 6 again the moment we held on for a second. What were the eels meant to do. Two different games were beign reffed. Storm are the one team you CANNOT give loads of possession and a quick ruck too. We have zero match fitness since round 1, so that spine, our errors and refs but it impossible to defend under fatigue. We played 60min with 12 men too.
- Now enough complaining about the ref.
- Kelly and Penisni still cant defend 1 on 1 tackles consistently.
- Pezet is overrated. He is not a 6 and looked good at Storm in theri system. He is slow and a poor defender.
- Da Silva is a reserve grader. 1 year into a 4 year contract and I may have already given up on him. His service is putrid. He cannot control a ruck even though he didnt miss a tackle. His decison making is poor.
- Smith had the worst game of his career. Errors, missed tackle, etc. Really hope this was a one off
- Our bench rotation was completely fucked up because of the Iongi HIA. Our bench was a fullback (Papalii), hooker (TDS) and 2 small forward in Doorey and Walker. They had no chance in competing with Storms elite spine and big forward pack once they got a roll on (plus refs help).
No one is saying we played a great game or were not poor with our handing. We hurt oursleves for sure. But apply all the context. Refs fucking over from the start. The bench we had to use cause of the HIA BS. The countless 6 agains. Try to control the ruck and get pinged. Versing the best spine in the comp with all of that is impossible even if we completed well the refs wouldnt let us win I am certain of it.

It's clear that DeBelin doesn't have in him to be an out and out first grader anymore. His endurance is gone.
We need Fox back asap with Russell and that will shore up the left, will make Pezet look better than he is. Kautoga was the only one who could find a gap or bend the line, he needs to stay. Big T and Sam T need to be on the bench. Doorey or Moretti need to be the starting Lock with Walker to come on. TDS needs to practice, this needs to be done in cup.
Williams disappointed me in a few efforts. Petrus playing Flegg and also Latu and Funa-Iuta in Cup could be looking for a starter.
Penis-ini has been a dud forever. The guy runs hard but has hands like feet, is slow and never knows when to pass. He's been given enough chances now to improve that he has to be replaced either by Samrani or a tackle pad. Hopgood shits me with him never getting square at marker but he did have to make a shit tonne of tackles. We can only get better from here, right?
I think a lot went against us but we didn't make it easy for ourselves either.
20 minutes at 12 men, 2 forward rotation because of the hia, 14-8 penalty count (with there ruck infringements often coming on tackle 4) making 128 more tackles (over 21 more full sets). It paints a very troubling picture which we would've had to have been perfect to compete.
then throw in 17 errors and I think we got away lightly with the scoreline.

We committed the cardinal sin or making far to many errors and not completing sets the rest is sermantics.If we took the footage of us getting robbed with by 6 agains we get laughed out of the room I bet you Melbourne could do the same.
Both coaches mentioned the lack of completion by us and we paid the price the errors gave the Storm spine all the advantage they needed.We committed footy sucide in what was already a tough venue and opponent and made there job easy,
The concerning part for me is JR mentioning he has to look at the preparation of the team and he had a dig at players also have to take individual responsibility.The other thing I took out of this is our system isn't entrenched and our players aren't interchangeable and can just slot in a do a job for us.Some of the mistakes made tonight by us were just inexcusable and to wait all off season and a team supposedly on the rise puts that on the table is just pathetic.I was expecting competitive at least and we rolled out a slaughter.These guys are Jeykl and Hyde anyone out there confident against the Broncs away if we see any inkling of this dog shit we'll see back to back 50 point games if we aren't careful and even worse Melbourne weren't even at full strength.
