Only thing is, Penrith are starting to become Melbourne in that if you leave you usually do not succeed elsewhere. Not saying Turuva cannot be a weapon leaving Penrith, however who has left Penrith lately and succeeded out of their system? Koroisau perhaps but he had played in other systems before going to Penrith.
Turuva is a good player. The endless criticism of Sivo because at 30 years of age he doesn't run kamikaze style at the line wouldn't apply to Turuva as he has boundless energy. He is also just as good a finisher as Sivo. Possibly lose a bit in the air as he is shorter but overall would be a good replacement for Sivo as the big guy approaches the end. The panthers get a lot out of Turuva and To'o out of the backfield. They are the best in the comp so if we are looking at an upgrade in that area that's where you look.
Wouldn't that be great ! The plusses on Turuva side is his attitude , Turuva is faster and the fact that we could probably get him for 450k compared to the 800k that we would have to pay Lomax.
Mate centre and wing are our biggest problems plus no decent backup halfback and no decent backup fullback.
If Brown or Gutho went down with injury we would really be putting on a park team backline.
These days one may argue that wing is more important than centre. At the moment the best winger at the club is Sean Russell...just think about that for a minute...Sean Russell is our best winger. Very sad state of affairs and shows how criminally neglected our backline has become.
"If he joined us he would be 32 in November and then turning 33 a month and a half into the season. Sign him for 2 years and he is 34 when he retires. Take the risk and offer 3 years and he is 35 for the last year of his deal.
I'm not saying he is…"
"Like the player don't like the age of the player though imo this is Custers last stand. We've got enough experience in our pack id just extend Jnr and call it a day. What I wouldn't do is put a road back ahead of Tuivaiti Moretti Brown Talagi and co…"
"He might if the money was right. If the initial year was big and the CO year even bigger, why wouldn't he? As you say, he's still in demand. If we didn't activate the CO, it's likely he would have other offers."

He's a great finisher bout it
Reminds me of Charlie Staines. I don't get the hype.

Love this player. Always turns up, never dogs it. I can't recall him dropping a ball in the air. Excellent finisher. Excellent defender.
We need to be looking at transitioning Sivo away from the club.
The absolute perfect player for the Eels and would be the player is be targeting way before Lomax.
Turuva is good but not what we need at the moment
Lomax is a far better option. He is more versatile, can kick goals and there is the possibility of getting him now as Turuva would be next year.
Although both would be outstanding.

Lomax won't cost us 800k.
I doubt Turuva will leave Penref for 450k. He will want more and he isn't worth more than that.
Centre is our biggest issue in the backline and relying on guys like Harper and Simonsson will get us nowhere.
