      • I think it was on the Oracle Facebook page.. either way they have a worse strike rate than the resident Troll Pou bear....

        • My strike rate is 100% because I just question your dumb logic, which is dumb 100% of the time.

          • Its only dumb when I deal with your stupidity.

            • Pou has been here longer than Xmas Y2E......he would have forgotten more than anything you know.

He is also a legend of IEE and hardly a Troll.

              • A legend of 1EE 😅 he hardly posts on these forums...

Old Pou bear is over at LU more than here we go Waaaaay back as well  and he loves the old eye test 😉

                Poppa clueless idiot...

  • If we get two state players Best & Spencer, three with Luai we are going to be competitive. Need to sort out the Fox, I'm sure he would like to know what he up to. So potentially with Paulo & Moses we have 5 former & current State players & if Fox stays it's 6. Not a bad squad, can this club pull off these signings.

    • Best has the (excuse the pun) best years ahead of him. He's a great talent who is still on the rise, he would be a great buy.

Spencer is unproven out of a champion team. If we can get his best he could be a great player, but we could also be looking at a Matto 2.0 situation.

Luai? Has been a shadow of himself since Penrith. Moses and Luai could be a revelation in the halves, but neither have been anywhere near their best for well over a year now and both potentially appear to be on the decline.

      A great squad needs:

      • Some experience and age (albeit past their peak): We tick that box with Paulo, Moses, Luai, JAC (although he'll be out half the year)
      • Some exciting top-of-career talent: We would get that with Best...but that's probably all we have.
      • Some exciting raw up and comers: TDS or Brown maybe? There aren't many up and comers who would get poached from us by good teams. I know we love our juniours, but they're not in many "exceptional" conversations outside of our club.

If we land Spencer and Best on top of Luai, our squad is definitely better than this year. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's "not bad". With the improvement of some squads below us (eg Dragons will be much better) I don't think we go up the ladder much next year unless we get some unreal revival of form from Moses, Luai, JAC and Junior. Possible...but it's a lot of "what ifs". Based on current form it's a below average squad - if all stars align we could scrape our way around the top 10 or maybe even top 8, but it's unlikely.

      • The dragons were smart they played their juniors, us we never let our juniors this year have a real hot crack we kept giving Kelma and some other idiots reps for no reason. But got to trust the process and hope and pray.

      • To be fair, Newcastle started with a lot of, what if's & I believe their squad believed in themselves. Moses is still a top halfback, he now made the Australian team, he wouldn't be in that squad if they thought he was average, plenty of top 7's around. If they are around the top 8, that might just bring the best out in them.

        • The commentary is not as important as the players / team not having the run of injuries they experienced. We went close enough this year with a squad that was pretty average on face value.....too early to write ourselves off yet.

"Sandon Smith will be a case in point he's done well at the Roosters and the Knights but if you put him in this Parra side do you think he excels I certainly don't.As for him leaving us well best career move for him.
