The Parramatta Eels wish to announce that Maika Sivo has been granted a release from his contract for the 2025 season to pursue opportunities that will allow him to further his career elsewhere.
Maika has been an integral part of our Club since joining in 2019 when he finished as the top try scorer in the NRL. Over his 115 NRL games with the Club he has brought excitement, power, and become a fan favourite with the Blue and Gold Army; we thank him for his dedication and service to the Eels.
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said, “We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Maika, his partner Korina, and his family for their time with us. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavors, both in rugby league and beyond."
Maika will always be a part of the Eels family, and we look forward to seeing him succeed in the next chapter of his career.

Thankyou for your service, but I'm glad your moving on. Your money was just used to buy Joash Papalii with further signings to come.
Like I said in another thread about him staying. Ryles did not want him and it wasnt over, no matter what Sivo said in the dressing room interview.
It's a good move by Ryles. Good luck to Sivo who's given fans some great memories.
A good move for all parties.
I just hope the fans remember how good he really was between 2019 and 2021. Then solid in pieces for the other years. One of our best finishes and an absolute beast on his day. Good luck in England.

Agree.
Should be remembered as a top player, being only the 4th player in club history to score 100 tries. It's sad as it seems he was pushed out. Yet at same time he was not meeting potential, ageing and on too much money.
I wonder though if Lomax, despite saying he's a Centre, will be on the Wing and Samrani is the new Centre.
Thanks for the memories big fella, oh well the good ones anyway. The Sivo chant will long be remembered
Thanks big man. He was just about the best winger in the comp at his peak but that prime was all too short. He leaves the NRL with the best try scoring strike rate in history for players with over 100 games.
He was a big part of our return to the finals but unfortunately dropped off along with the rest of the team after the grand final.
But but he is staying he has another 2 years
YES.... about bloody time
