Gus also said Parramatta were crazy to let Gutherson go. How did that turn out

Gus knows more about R&R than any of us, no?
But imo Ryles made the right call to let Gutho go. For all parties.
Let's agree to disagree on all of that.

It's a worrying sign when a solid few of us on here start to all have the same concerns.
Hopefully we're all jumping at shadows. I just see so many comparisons to some of BAs tenure and where he also got hindered and stuck and am worrying that we haven't fixed some of the fundamentals in the club prior to just swapping out the coaching staff (for a rookie coach).
I'll be extremely pleased to be wrong.

100%. I think with the finish to the year last year. In particular the 60 pt thrashing of Newcastle. Plastered over the gaping holes in our roster. The winning preseason was a sugar rush which gave everyone the warm and fuzzier. Unfortunately the players we have bought this weren't the correct selections. The barometer for me will be the newy game.
Moses no longer should be halfback for parra it's time for a change they should shift him to 5/8 there's a open window there to sign boyd from the warriors they should snap him up shift papalii to the wing next season with volkman off the bench.
It's clear to see that the Eels have massive holes in their roster. All of us Eels fans have gone through poor recruitment and questionable junior retention for decades now. Everybody has dreams for things that would make life better for their…

Gus has been saying for some time recruitment is the most challenging as he’s ever seen. Even over the last week.
What Ryles said, which aligns with that, is just grounded in reality.

Quick fix. Cmon we've been a below average side since 2001.
Blaming the ref is usually what a coach does when he has run out of ideas.
I hope that's not the go here.
I think not only was Ryles having a shot at the officiating but also at the media also
Ryles said "we" can't commit as may fundamental errors, which Moses also agreed with.
So this “passing the buck” on the refs theory seems a bit of a biased leap.
He gets peppered with officiating questions practically every week, and it's a very topical discussion point.
Maybe, just maybe, he was surprised he wasn’t asked.
Not sure about you folks, but 25 penalties/restarts in a game is a bit ridiculous. Maybe you folks like that. I don't.
Hopefully, if he scratches his nose, he's not Pinocchio.
