      • It's more so from the perspective that we had identified 2 young gun halves that the club rated highly and offered long term deals and were rejected both times.

Both with connections to the club in Galvin being a childhood fan and a lot of credible mail that he wanted to come during the process and Pezet being extremely close with Ryles that you would think give us an advantage however we miss out late both times.

Is it wrong to start to ask why and be critical of our recruitment team? It's not like I'm criticising them for missing out on Tino or Haas level talent that they have buckleys getting off the bat

        • What would you want the recruitment team to do differently? Offer more money? Side deals?

          • I'd be questioning why can't they close. Galvin took less at the dogs and Pezet's decision wasn't based off money.

We were the front runners in both of those only to be beat at the end when the new club swoops in. That's concerning. It means we are lacking something that these clubs can offer.

We don't have to agree on this. If you are fine with how this has played out, good for you. I'm concerned.

            • Galvin was always going to the dogs. Why do you think he asked for a release from the Tigers a year before he was actually released. ?     Did Galvin at the time know Dylan would join the Knights ?

Cmon, you're don't even know what you're talking about.

              • Dear lord Chief i brought this up before and you didn't reply back i will say it again. He wanted to go to Penrith for 2025, that is why he asked for a release last year. Wests wouldn't let him. Penrith couldn't wait and signed Talagi instead.

Last year Dogs were not in it. They were hanging around then when Wests gave the all clear they pounced quickly. Luke Vella was the main factor Galvin felt comfortable with.

SMH did a story a few weeks ago saying it, they said Penrith preferred Talagi when technically they settled for Talagi as Wests weren't budging on Galvin and liked both him and Blaize equally.

              • lol mate have a read of what you just wrote before you accuse other people of not knowing what they are talking about

  • I like to swim against the tide.....I do believe it's a good signing and a signing out of necessity. The Dean Hawkins deal is done, but the Pezet deal is not yet confirmed, so Ryles releases Dean to take up a contract with life changing dollars and at 27 come March he is not going to get that money here, so good for Dean. So now we are down to Moses and as good as he is hasn't played much over the past 2 years and fit will play Rep footy, Joash who is still learning and Volkman, still yet to set the world on fire and some young guns not yet ready. Maybe, just maybe Pezet is about to spend another year at Melbourne in reggies before heading to Brisbane with the keys to their kingdom as a starting half, Ryles offers 1 year and a chance to play more 1st grade and solve a depth issue for next year. I believe Dean was going and not because of Pezet, and if that was the case and there was no Pezet, we would all be screaming, "Next year is f#cked already, what if Mitch goes down, where's our depth".....Well here's our depth and in Ryles I still trust.

And who nows what else is in the pipeline, November 1 hasn't even hit yet.

    • Don't forget any player can say they are sick of any club at anytime now and demand an exit. There is no such thing as long term contracts anymore.

      • There is a club I am fucking sick of,.....but I'm stuck on a long-term fan contract with them.

Lot of fans are upset with the one year Pezet deal, and I understand that. But let's look at the calls Ryles has made since joining the club. Gutho and RCG getting moved on immediately got some backlash as well, big call but Ryles was correct. Lot…
