But then Moses comes back and makes us lose respectfully. We do improve with Moses i believe that. Not enough to win but Moses helps. That's what could save BA, said it from the start.
That's the concern. No one in authority has the football nous to see the obvious. That Moses returning merely papers over the cracks. This team is getting further from a premiership, not closer. Sarantinos promised us that we would be contending every year. He said it every time he spoke to a group of members / fans. So we missed the 8 last year, are currently in 14th. What's the plan to make good on this pledge? Or do we just extend BA forever because he's a good divisional manager, a solid employee and you don't sack good managers in a business. It says so in the MBA manual, section 1, paragraph 5.
Another issue is if we win it will be on pure heart and simply proving people wrong. Once we get that win it'll be a chip off the shoulder and BA will stick with the same tactics as if that's why we won. No growth.
I think the Eels peaked in 2022 and are on the downhill slide. If nothing changes we will be bottom 3 and another spoon in the near future.
Which brings us to the leagues club board who have sat back and overseen this fuck up of a board and done nothing .
As fans we can all see the issues and spotted these issues years ago yet we are basically irrelevant and can't do anything about it immediately .
If you wanted to bring in the current system their should of been a mechanism in place where members had the option to remove in one whole sweep if deemed necessary by enough members.
Wow, remove the whole board in one sweep sounds like a sure fire way for us to quickly go backwards.
Super with your track record of consistently being wrong about everything to do with the club and backing absolute rubbish it's best you say nothing .
Stick to being the clubs official apologist .
I'm not sure removing an entire board would be in our best interest. We'll be back to factions fighting it out, Ray Price giving interviews in the car park on election days etc.
I think the better method would be that individuals within the PNRL Board can be singled out and removed if the members (via the League's Club) feel they must be replaced. They need to be cognisant of the fact that the members are the ultimate authority. They all work for and represent the members.
How do we do that without removing the leagues club board members 2 at a time at least until they act.
We'd need to change the constitution. I'd need to get some advice on what would be the best mechanism and we definitely want to avoid any unintended consequences. However I think our current set up is an unintended consequence itself. Basically McElduff is completely untouchable. He could renew BA for the next 20 years and there's nothing substantial that the members could do about it.
I don't know much about McElduff. He gives the impression of a very conservative operator. I don't believe he has any significant NRL experience beyond his current role, not sure. I also don't know how he wields his power within the Board and I'm concerned that essentially he alone makes these types of decisions regarding Head Coach etc. However all that aside, I'm mostly concerned he's not accountable to the members. A small tweak of the constitution could change that.
