I don't rate him at 6 because he doesn't know how to defend in the front line. His reads are horrible. He defends with his feet planted against shape which leaves his centre in two minds on whether Bamblett will get to his player or not. His contact in defence is shit too.
his strength is his attack. As Richard says, his running game is great. It looks like he glides along the field. He loves to make a run behind the ruck. All these traits suited to a fullback. He rarely looks to pass and doesn't organise his edge in attack because he just wants to run the ball. Again something that you cannot be as a FG half.
I get that they have the option to develop him as a 6 to fix the flaws I have stated. But I wouldn't develop him as a 6 with Lorenzo, Fletcher and Risati at the club. Not to mention Papalii is off contract next year and who knows if he will stay at the club or go to the SL for game time. So with Twiddle gone, we may need a back up fullback to Iongi in 2028 which is when Bamblett will probably be ready for FG.
Then again EA, it is on the club and himself to decide what path to approach. If he and the club feel 6 can work, then work with him. He either improves enough where he gets game time or he doesn't and goes back to Fullback and hopes for an opening. Thankfully age is on his side, defence is something that can be taught with is being attitude most of the time. The issue of planting feet which causes Centre doubting his inside can be fixed. I say can be and not "will be". Same with contact, it is about attitude.

He looks bigger than Twidle to me. Taller anyway. His contact will improve as he gets stronger and he can use his mobility to find his place at 6. Coaches can challenge a players defence easier than teaching that natural flair in attack.
Bamblett is very strong while Twidle isn't. When/if Bamblett fills out he could be an absolute beast.
Yea Bamblett has plenty of natural strength. He is taller than Twiddle. Bamblett is quiet skinny now. As Pou said, once he builds into his frame he will be quiet strong.
Surely Bamblett is young enough to learn these things EA. He is 19 years old. I remember watching him last year and I didn't rate him at all. 12 months later he is twice the player. Who knows what sort of player he'll be at 21.
If Blaize Talagi's defence is good enough for the NRL, there's hope for plenty of youngsters.
Yea given his age there is time to improve his game and mould him into a 6. He definitely has the talent. He was very highly rated at Panthers HM team in 2024. He also needs to pull his head in a bit because he has a very short temper like when he threw a punch last week (can't believe the souths players didn't get binned as well).
though just quickly, when Fletcher returns from injury, he will go into the halves with Kade which would push Bamblett to fullback anyway. So Bamblett will only have a few weeks at 6 anyway.
