Centre Sean Russell returns from concussion so Brian Kelly moves to the wing and last week's debutant Araz Nanva slides to the interchange. Charlie Guymer and Jack Williams are the new second-rowers in place of Kelma Tuilagi (head knock) and Kitione Kautoga. The loss of bench forward Sam Tuivaiti (head knock) sees Saxon Pryke join the bench for his NRL debut. Prop Toni Mataele has also been added to the bench as he chases a second NRL appearance after debuting in Round 11 last year.

    • And it is Ryles' fault how exactly? He can say he wants players and is involved somewhat getting them but we have a head of recruitment who's job it is to identify players.

      • Buck stops with the head coach. Doesn't matter what's going on, he's judged on his wins and losses.

        • Clubs have to be willing to let players go on loan. Plus I dont want us signing a player for more than this year if it impacts our salary cap and top 30 spaces for next year. Cause the reality is lots of players would probably want a year on top of their current contract to move clubs. I rather suffer more this year if it wont affect next year.

        • Correct. There's no way anyone can say that Ryles doesn't have some major input and influence on the team he wants, recruitment, styles and techniques of coaching including defence, attack, and mental toughness and preparing for every game.

        • still only allowed 30 in the squad

          • If a player is on loan due to our injuries, does that affect our cap? And is that a deduction on cap for the club loaning him out to us?

            • macy we take the payments on the cap plus use a top 30 spot

              • Thankyou mongolian

        • Not when injuries have destroyed any realistic chance. The aim now is to try avoid the spoon. Based on our injury list he gets a pass mark if pulls off a miracle and avoids it. Good luck Ryles, you're gonna need it.

        • Loans don't actually exist in the NRL. The player needs to be released by their club, sign a contract with us and sign a new contract with their club that allows them to play for us. It's not like the EPL.
