A boost for the Eels with star winger Josh Addo-Carr (thumb) back on deck so Sean Russell moves to centre and Brian Kelly drops to the extended bench. Jack Williams slides to prop in place of the suspended J'maine Hopgood with Kelma Tuilagi joining the starting side. Sam Tuivaiti has again been named in No.15 and will be hoping for game time after a reshuffle last week saw Joash Papalii sent into the game when Isaiah Iongi left the field for a HIA.

I have said in the past... Penisini needs to have a good look at himself
I hope the Eels win.
But that Storm game was unbelievably damaging. I can't see them turning it around so quickly. A better performance but still a sizeable loss is on the cards.
I think some here would accept a better performance loss if it was like 24-12 or something like that. If they hit 40 or more.....
I really feel Samrani needs to be in the Final 19 his versatility is so valuable
I'd like to see Samrani on the bench at the expense of TDS. Samrani is really coming of age, much like Russell. He can fill back row or centre/wing easily. Walker needs to have more minutes as lock and hooker when Smith has a rest.
That would be our best interchange option IMO.
Last year 2 teams who got flogged in round 1 bounced back in round 2 while 2 got beaten. There are also plenty of examples of teams being flogged winning the following week.
Last year Roosters got beaten 50-14 round 1 against broncos then beat Penrith 38-32. Warriors lost 30-8 to sharks round 1 then won 36-16 to Manly while we obviously lost both weeks and so did cowboys.
I think we are better than last year though and with better refereeing, no sinbins and Ryles not messing up our forward rotation we should be a lot better this week. The 6 agains cause a level of and fatigue that can blow open games and should affect bench choices.
I wish the Broncos won last week so they may have been complacent, but Madge will have them fired up. In our favour is their defence isn't as strong as Melbourne so if we hold the ball we will get opportunities. We scored first before fatigue kicked in and looked good in attack prior to stupid mistakes. That said I won't be going despite living in Brisbane. Putting up with bronco fans is bad enough without having to attend a game and put up with them if we lose. A major concern us Staggs will be lining up on the same side as Pezet and I'm sure Madge will have some plays for Stags to drop back inside and run through him but with JAC and Russell back together hopefully they tighten the left defence.
I think we'll see a much better performance. It wasn't skill or lack of football nouse in both attack and defence that brought us undone, it was purely fatigue brought on with a combination of sin bins, flamboyant passing and crazy offloads.
I still think the club has come a long way, its just that we're not there yet - i think the players thought we just needed to do what we did at the back end of 25 and everything would be sweet. - now they will think about staying in the grind and realise nothing beats hard work.
Nothing like a schooner of reality
The Broncs also got flogged last week and for me we couldn't have got them at a worse time.
They are more athletic bigger faster and stronger than us.
The only key indicators for me are footy basics high completion get to your kick and all the 1% stuff we have to nail.If we put the same shit we put out there last week with the errors on top of the first mentioned we'll get flogged again.
Positives thank fark we don't have to deal with Harry Grant in the ruck again he arse ripped Ryley Smith and co and dominated the ruck thank god we don't see him.
Honestly though after such a poor week 1 surely we can't be as bad as last week surely. So anything that looks half pie better is it really better what it will probably tell me is how far we really are away roster wise vs the best and what we need to do to compete for this year.
