Ryles states he is is no rush to make signings! I am sorry, but we have an L plate coach who sees no rush? Really, we are second last on a ladder. We will be lucky to avoid the spoon. Unless something changes we have no change on last season, despite the fact that I do see improvements in the squad, but we are still way off the mark. I am stunned by this statement and we must have so much money available for the right players to improve this squad yet we appear to be doing risky squat! I truly hope there are some things going on in the background but if we keep status quo, we are in a word of pain for years to come. The fact that we still have no decent replacement for Dylan Brown says it all. I am getting beyond frustrated. We lack serious impact forwards and a quality 6 and centre. Are we just sitting and hoping or is the Club going to come up with something? One concerned and frustrated life long eels fan here.

I hope things are moving behind the scenes as well. Many fans like yourself are beyond frustrated. The fact the club hasn't managed to snag a marquee signing since "Kieran Foran" (who turned out to be a flop), now having that money to do so (estimated around 3.5-4 mill) the heat is well and truly on the club to "do something". Long suffering fans are beyond frustrated with the clubs nonschullent attitude whilst being regular name at the bottom of the ladder.

Also for those saying we don't need a marquee signing, I disagree. We need to find not only a player that's the right fit for the club, but also one that will attract other good players to the club. Yes we have Mitchell Moses but I don't think that is enough. We need to snare another "big name" that players will want to play with, will want in their team. Think about the stars that have left their respective teams to play alongside the likes of Nathan Cleary, Stephen Crichton, Joseph Tapine... I know we're not going to get any of those names but there are others, now that we have the $$$ we should be targeting a player in the calibre classes I mentioned above. Whether that's a Tino, Strange or Katoa we should absolutely be looking to make some serious moves in the player market over the next 6 months.
You can't just go and buy someone when there is no one good on the market. Yes we utterly embarrassed ourselves failing to get Galvin but now it's about getting players like Walker. Players that have a contract but want a release for some reason or clubs needing to release players because of salary cap pressure. All the good players would be signed up so no point looking at the reject pile for the off contract players. Got to be patient unfortunately
How did we embarrass ourselves? I think we handled the Galvin negotiation with utmost professionalism. The fact that he chose to go to the dogs doesn't reflect on us one way or the other.
We embarrassed ourselves because we were outsmarted by Gus and the Dogs. In these negotiations there are winners and losers. We lost.
If it pleases you to say we lost professionally, then so be it. But we still lost.
I hoping we in talks with Staggs n Smith n at lease 3 forwards if Tino leaves the Titans we need him i be happy to offer him any thing over $1.5M if i was in charge
