Adam, your positivity is admirable. I hope your feelings are correct. Again.
Ivan Cleary said on a podcast with Hayden Knowles a week or so ago that his strategies and planning evolved over time, with plenty of trial and error. And still are. They were eclectic taken from many different sources. Like Ryles, he keeps questioning and learning from others. Jack Gibson was the same, always learning from others and reading. That's a key ingredient.
Success for Gibson or Cleary didn’t come from godly messiahs with a magic wand and big names falling from the sky although Gibson inherited a team of superstars. He still had to give them the edge to win titles. Matt Cameron wasn’t even CEO until 2022, when the wheels of success were already turning. Fitz didn’t even want Gibson, and the Eels don’t win titles without him. The whole messiah idea conjuring up titles isn’t realistic, especially without a big hitting sugar daddies say with Broncos, Storm, Dogs and probably Storm on the side. And this claim that someone “knows what success looks like” to qualify them as a Messiah is naive. That's no guarantee. Panthers don't win a four-peat if Gus stays.
We’re building. What gives me hope is the alignment up top with a head coach who’s passionate, has the right attitude, keeps learning, and has a nose for players and the game. They just need to stay tight, trust each other, stay aligned, keep learning, improving, and chipping away. There will be serious challenges. Fall down seven times, get up eight.
Is taking him back a weak stance?, it's not as if he left on bad terms, people in the club are probably annoyed he made the decision to go but I doubt there is any animosity.
I agree with what you are saying about the perception of being weak but I don't see taking him back as being weak.

"LB, I would have added that you too are a part of the fabric and general vibe here, but everyone knows that already...with ploppa it's not so obvious to folks what actually he brings to the table. They think he stinks up the place and wrecks…"
"yes the last few games left us feeling great, with a lot of upside. I'm still not sure this seasons team is better then last seasons. Feel we are short a couple of good players still. Time will tell"
