Players and Coach lose respect for each other!

Phil Gould....

"From where I sit, I think yesterday's performance represented breaking point. There was something about their demeanour and body language that suggests they are in no frame of mind for a late-season run at the finals in 2010.

I watched with great interest as they prepared for yesterday's contest with their usual warm-up routines on the field. They simply went through the motions.

I saw no attention to detail, no urgency and no obvious sign of desire. Drills and skills were done at half pace. Even at this leisurely tempo there were several errors in their work. Passes floated forward, balls were dropped and the execution of plays left a lot to be desired.

The greatest indicator of intent is the amount of talk and encouragement you hear from players as they prepare themselves for battle. This Parramatta warm-up was conducted almost in silence. It was dead. No life. No spirit. Sure enough that's how they played".

Coach and Players need a special bond.... clearly there is none in Parra.

For me, it's another reason why I would put Feleti Mateo in the halves. Despite the fact that he's leaving, Feleti seems to be playing with more passion and urgency right now. I thought he was clearly our best on the weekend. As I've said before, quite remarkably Feleti is just about our best talker in the side right now. We desperately need some leadership.
  • You just knew it wasn't going to be Parra's day when you saw Hindmarsh cough the ball up 3 times i the first half alone...

A real shame that Cayless' 250th game resulted the way it did...
    • Agreed EelLectric! i thought the exact same thing!
  • With all the rumours, innuendo and bad publicity that has come our way for most of this season - who could really say they are surprised?

External observations by many commentators have eluded to that mysterious "something" that is holding us back.

Game plans (or lack thereof) have contributed greatly to our demise and against the Warriors our senior (and most reliable) players faltered badly.

Individually some players are still giving their all but when you see Hindy so distracted that he drops his first 3 touches then sirens scream and big red light flash wildly. It was as though Hindy must have missed the bus to the game and a Hindy impersonator was sent on until he arrived.

These are good talented players in our roster so what is the REAL problem.
  • is there real problems at parra or when you lose more than you win alot of people jump to conclussions? i dont know but love reading different opinions
  • Phil Gould is spot on... Things don't look good and it shows in our effort and poor attitude...

Hayne is playing at 50% of what he is capable of,
Hindmarsh's mind was somewhere else yesterday against the warriors,
Inu's mind is already in N.Z,
Mateo is counting the $$$ he got instead of putting 110% in...
Mortimer looks out of his depth,
Tahu has issues of the field and then carried it into the game and cost us a month,
Poore is wishing he stayed at the dragons,
Robson is wondering when he will be playing for wenty...
    • Think you hit the nail on the head. Some things rotten at parra.
  • jpav a team like ours doesn't forget to turn up.
They train hard and play hard.
Nathan Hindmarsh (to my knowledge) has never dropped a ball before without acknowledgeing to his mates his mistake and "I'll make up for it" attitude.
It was Mateo trying to lift Hindy this time because he was obviously in a "so f*&^%$*^ what" frame of mind.

We are losing miserably atm and the players minds are clearly NOT on the game.
  • I think the mood and lack of energy and enthusiasm that Gould describes could be a cancer in the club such as poor player/coach relations......

it could just as easily be a by-product of an inability to score points.

I didn't watch the game on the weekend but in most games I have seen this year the team is lacking confidence, not passion. D has been great and the go forward has been solid.

The team can easily pull out of this, but it will come down to DA pulling the right strings. Given his peristance with the current crop, I am not confident things will trun around but team is more than capable of doing it.
    • Define "inability to score points" please
Plus who is responsible for formulating the plans to score points - the coach or the players?
