Russell Crow has offered him a signed jersey and a starring role in his next movie.....the movie could be Godzilla plays the Souths pack.....good match up.....
Aside from that being an entirely SOO/Int'l pack, throw Mitchell & Wighton into the centres, if Gray plays fullback & Walker is still 5/8. I guess the Eels are lucky that V'Landys has one eye making sure the Storm of all teams get a legup on the Eels, as we would not want mass inequity to take hold (sarcasm emoji)
I say good on Souths, they have a squad with many more high profile players than us on bigger contracts and still recruit the best forward in the game. We always seems to have no cap space.
Haas would walk into any NRL team with most clubs willing to dump who ever they need to to get him, so for Rabbits to pull this off with no one aware shows how negotiations should occur in the background. It also means theat some players will now be on the market for 2027 to clear space.
I just don't see Haas being happy in busy Sydney. He grew up in Newcastle and moved to the gold coast so is in for a massive shock as well as scrutiny from the media and fans like he is not used to. I see him returning on compassionate grounds to Qld breaking the contract early or even using the cooling off period of 10 days with new offer from Broncos unless something is very wrong inside the club and his relationships with others..
I hope it works out for him and his family but it raises plenty of questions why leave a premiership winning team from a powerhouse club for a struggling team in the busy and hectic lifestyle of inner city Sydney.
Is Haas moving his siblings to Sydney as he is now guardian of them. His younger brother signed with Broncos academy and is 15 while their mum is still in jail in Qld. Does Haas fit the bro culture with Latrell, Whighton and Walker who run the team.
If he doesn't see out the contract, what do Souths lose in way of young players not renewed due to lack of salary cap?
Do Souths think Walker will play on, or is Latrell or Whighton going to play 5/8 in 2027. Do they have any young guns ready to step up? Either way a lot rests on young Humphries because Smith at hooker doesn't offer much creativity and the other players mentioned are more ball runners not creatiive type players because there isn't any money to replace Walker.
"What on earth are you on about? Payne Haas is one of the most influential players by far. Had he signed with Eels, we'd be a near guarentee for top 4 come 2027. He makes any team competitive."

To make him keave Brisbane they probably gave him close to 2M why he leaves the premiers for team with no halves

So the Bunnies in 2027 could run out a pack of:
- Murray (Lock)
- Arrow & Fifita (2nd Row)
- Haas & Tatola/Moale/Keppie (prop)
- Brandon Smith (hooker)

Moale is gone, already at Melbourne and to Manly in 2027.
Thx LB
South's release KK and sign Fifita and Haas.
We lose Lomax and sign two duds in Kelly and D'bellend.
Oh and we also get to train the Broncos next star half for a year.
This club is a fucking joke.
Moses should go sign with a club that he would actually have a slim chance of winning a premiership with.
Moses to Souths ......it would be hollow winning a comp with that lot!
I would be like matching up Daz against Arnie in a Prison Break!

Yet they might not have much money for a half.
Can anyone with certainty tell me who their spine will be in 2027? Gray or Mitchell at 1
Who knows at 6 & 7
Smith maybe at 9, Mamazoulos maybe? Or a new signing.
Their depth isn't very good as shown last year and it will continue as their juniors are rubbish.
