Watch the latest Anasta podcast-
Straight from the horses mouth, " Parramatta - Ryles, never offered Jonah Pezet a long-term deal" He says Parramatta only ever wanted Pezet for one year.
The conversation was always 1 yrar.
So all the talk about the club being used, and all the cuckold blogs, you can just flush them.
He also says the kids Parramatta have coming through are the succession plan.
Replies
And if the kids never become what the coach thinks they will become?
New 5 year plan. Wash, rinse, repeat FMD.
And if we block there pathway forcing them to leave and they become stars elsewhere?
Which talent that was blocked and have moved on to another club and become a star??
Stefano is an emerging talent. He admitted he moved on from us because his path was blocked as BA had Junior & RCG. *
Players do move on if they feel their path is blocked or going nowhere. Cody Black. Pezet. Our ex-Sanders. Roosters' ex-Sanders. Hawkins. Ryley Smith. Off the top of my head. But it happens all the time...
* Of course, the conspiracy theorists might claim he is lying through his teeth: it's all because of his brother and the club, which he denies was the real truth. And, well, also, Cause of The Cuckolds. Us. And also because it's unfathomable anyone could speak the truth. Even a little. Just impossible. Well almost, except for the conspiracy theorists and non-Lefties.
Dont believe a word Anasta says but its done so hope he plays well while he is here, or Joash steps up and takes his place.
I call this bullshit and if Ryles claims this he's just another bulshitter and not a straight shooter at all
We have him for a season enjoy the ride. If he kicks the winning field goal against the Storm first round we'll all say what a master stoke.
We must really really have some talent in our next gen pathways. Looking forward to that, actually long term strategy plays a huge part here. If youngsters feel they will get a shot at first grade, then they are more likely to come to the Eels as 15 / 16 year olds when recruited.
Over time that means we get first look at exceptional juniors. Long term a great strategy. Just hope they are ironing our the wrinkles when it comes to re signing them for first grade and not losing them like we seem to do hand over fist.
Short term we have a bit of pain and we have to take a breath whilst we get our house in order, I guess.
Im not sure how much we can trust every word Anasta has said. He has been very fluid with his comments, i've heard him state Parra wanted him longer, i've heard him state Parra only wanted him for one year. All I know is that we have a very good foil for Mitch this year and the oppurtunity that they will create for our backs is going to be good to watch. Whether our backs can capitalise as a complete unit remains to be seen.
It was explained at the time, but some here still had their own thoughts & like most of the time the people here were wrong.
Thing here is and it doesn't even matter that Pezet didn't want long term or JR didn't offer it.Thing here is whomever it is young pathway guy or open market guy they have to be upto speed Moses isn't getting any younger and if we continue burning years of his prime we'll be looking for multiple answers in the given positions. This is the line we are walking and your also burning time striking up new combinations on both sides of the park.
Moses and Brown were together since 2019 and we almost got to to the top of the mountain all we are looking at now is question marks at best until we aren't.
